After Photography, Rory finished making sure all the copies of the newsletter were out and spamming the flist before opening the library.

As soon as she had the door propped open, she set her things down and went back out to drag the rather large fan she had brought with her.

Making sure it was on the oscillating function so nothing would blow away, she contentedly curled up behind the desk with her book.

"Protocol for meeting with royalty on this planet," Anakin said. "Um, historical as well as modern." He smiled. "I know how to do it for Alderaan and Naboo, but not for Earth."

"...are you planning on visiting the queen?" Rory asked, staring at him.

Anakin shook his head. "No. I told Willow I'd help her with some protocol stuff--I didn't ask why she'd need it. I just want to make sure I'm telling her the right things."

Rory bit her lip. "So...protocol as for meeting with royals? Like etiquette and stuff? I think we have a few books on that."

"Yeah, like that," Anakin said, grinning. "You're very helpful."

"It's my job," she said with a smirk as she rolled over to the computer and typed something in, then scribbled down a few numbers on a sheet of paper. "Okay, they're over that way, in the 580's."

She gave him a smile. "Think you can find it? Because I can go with you. Those stacks are tall and it's kind of dark...wouldn't want you to get lost or anything."

"Maybe you'd better show me, then," Anakin replied. "Because getting lost would be bad."

Rory smiled and rounded around the desk and tilted her head towards the stacks. "Okay, come on, then. How many books do you think you'll need?"

"Only a couple," Anakin decided. "I remember most of it, I just want to refresh my memory."

"Mmm, okay." Rory found the section in question, and thoughtfully tugged a couple volumes off the shelf. "Court etiquette: A guide to intercourse with royal or titled persons, to drawing rooms, levees, courts, and audiences, the formal modes of addressing other formality of business or pleasure."

She paused. "That is a really, really long title. And kind of dirty-sounding."

Anakin frowned. "How dirty? I thought those books were kept in Special Collections and I don't think that's exactly what I need to be teaching."

"No, I'm just being twelve, because there's intercourse in drawing rooms, according to the title. But, um, not in a dirty way," Rory said, blushing dark red. "We also have In the Royal Manner: Expert Advice on Etiquette and Entertaining from the Former Butler to Diana, Princess of Wales, which, given that said princess died in the mid-nineties, is probably a little more up-to-date."

Anakin smiled a little at Rory's blush. "Got it. Those two sound perfect."

"Yay!" Rory said, grinning. She glanced out into the main library. "Um. Did you want to cover that thing from the thingy today, or save it for another library visit?"

Anakin gave her a slow smile. "What do you think?"

"I think that if you do, then I need to take you into Special Collections since it's more NFB secluded," Rory said quietly.

Anakin grinned. "Sounds like a plan," he replied.

"And you're an instructor now so I don't even need a note," she said happily, taking the books to the front. "Do you think we need the gloves?"

"What were the gloves normally for?" Anakin asked. "Because I don't want to do anything that might make the books unhappy with me."

"In case something tries to bite or burn," she explained. "For handling the books."

"I'll risk it," Anakin decided. "I wasn't planning to pick up any of the books anyway."

"All right," she said, dropping the books off, giving him a smile and casually heading towards the doors to SC. "We're not going in very far, anyway."

Anakin followed along closely behind her and waited, bouncing slightly on his toes, for her to open the door.

"I'd rather not get my nails painted if it can be avoided," he said.

"You could paint them black," she said as she headed in and stepped to the side, away from bookshelves. "That would be almost as good as eyeliner."

Anakin wrapped his hands around Rory's waist and leaned his forehead against hers. "Good to know," he murmured, "even if I'm never planning to wear any."
