Library [07/12]

After Photography, Rory finished making sure all the copies of the newsletter were out ~~and spamming the flist~~ before opening the library.

As soon as she had the door propped open, she set her things down and went back out to drag the rather large fan she had brought with her.

Making sure it was on the oscillating function so nothing would blow away, she contentedly curled up behind the desk with her book.

"No eyeliner?" Rory asked sadly, playing with his braid a little.

"Nail polish," he clarified. "The eyeliner...I might be talked into."

"How could I persuade you?" Rory asked, planting a kiss on the underside of his jaw.

"Mmmm," Anakin said softly, closing his eyes. "More of that."

She obliged, kissing along his neck.

Anakin let out a satisfied sigh. "I don't have to show it to anyone else, right?" he asked. "Wear it to workshop or something insane like that?"

"No, just for me," she said, nipping at his ear.

"Then I'll do it," he said, tilting his head to nibble at her lower lip.

"I win," Rory murmured, raking her fingertips through his hair as she tried to deepen the kiss a little.

"This time," Anakin replied with a small smile. Then he was more concerned with kissing and less with talking.

And kissing was fun.

After a few moments, Rory pulled back a little to breathe and murmured, "Do you think that fulfills the whole 'Never made out in a library' thing? Because I don't think we can, um, do more."

"I'd rather not end up as a stuffed Ewok or something, yeah," Anakin said, tracing his finger down Rory's cheek. "But it was your addition to the list. Do you think this covers it?"

"I was thinking more of the fact that I left the library unattended," Rory pointed out, going up on her toes to kiss him again. "But I think it does."

"Happy to help," Anakin said, giving her a last lingering kiss before pulling back. "And we should probably get back out there, yeah."

Rory frowned. "Hang on."

She scurried over to a table and tidied the few books that Parker had left out. "Ow," she winced as one of them snapped at her as she carefully slid it onto the shelf. "This is why we wear gloves. I just didn't want to have to come back in here by myself."

Anakin glared at the snapping book. "Behave yourself," he scolded it.

"Did they just decide to wander off the shelves?" he asked.

"No, someone came back here to arrange them for their photography project," Rory said carefully. "But I didn't clean them up at the time, which is probably why they're cranky now."

"Wasn't very polite of that person to arrange them and then not rearrange them," Anakin said. He shrugged. "But they didn't grow up being lectured by Obi-Wan about neatness."

"They were moving. We didn't want to get eaten," Rory explained.

Anakin grinned. "I never tried that approach to not having to clean up."

"It's completely valid. Wait till she lets me have my copies of the photos," Rory said, smiling and going over to the door. "Ready to head back out?"

"Sure," Anakin said, following along behind. "This was for Veronica's class?"

"Uh huh. I'll probably ask you to pose for me at some point, if I get a prompt that'd work," Rory said as they emerged. "This week our prompts are 'blue,' 'leaves' and 'earth.'"

"What have you decided to take pictures of?" Anakin asked, heading over to the circulation desk where the books on etiquette were waiting.

"Bucky for the blue one," she said. "And I'm Angela's model for that one, because of my eyes. The other two are still up in the air."

She scanned the books, and held out her hand for his card.
