After Photography, Rory finished making sure all the copies of the newsletter were out and spamming the flist before opening the library.

As soon as she had the door propped open, she set her things down and went back out to drag the rather large fan she had brought with her.

Making sure it was on the oscillating function so nothing would blow away, she contentedly curled up behind the desk with her book.

Angela went to the library after photography as if a homing beacon was pullign her there, and beamed when she saw her friend. "Roryroryrory!"

Rory looked up. "Angelaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!"

Yes, it had that many A's and two extra exclamation points. She had really missed her.

She hurried over to give her friend a hug. "I kept trying to run into you but I didn't but I saw Zero and my mom had the baby and oh em gee how are you?"

"I am good and I missed you and ohmygod a baby? Is your mom okay? Is he okay? And I saw Zero Saturday."

Yeah, Angela was happy too.

"He's fine and he's tiny and he's perfect and his name is Bucky and Mom is fine too and how was Paris?" Rory said excitedly.

"That is an adorable name and Paris was gorgeous and everyone there was watching soccer so the museums were almost empty and it was so, so, SO romatic, Rory. You shoudl take someone sometime if you can."

"Everyone was watching footy when we were in New York, which is also romantic, and so the Met barely had anyone there, and Bucky is short for William Starbucks Gilmore-Danes and Jakey bought stock for the a baby and oh my God you have to see him because he is so wee and cute."

She paused to breathe, and added, "The baby, not Jakey."

"Jakey's cute," Angela said. "Are he and Alex still travelling? And with a name like that, the baby is, so, so definitely related to you. Is your mom at their house on the mainland? When did she have the kid? How's Luke?"

"Bucky was born on the fourth of July," Rory said. "Like Tom Cruise in that movie! And Luke's great. Nervous, and driving Mom a little crazy. And yeah, they're at the house. And Jakey and Alex are visiting Logan and Angel soon, I think. Alex is still not eaten by sharks. It seems to be an important point to clarify."

"Awww," Angela beamed. "Patriotic baby, I mean. Not Alex not being eaten by sharks though that's also really really good. And I hope they have a good time in L.A. with no vampires except Angel."

"Were there vampires there other than Angel when you were there?" Rory asked. "And did Logan behave? I meant to ask Angel, but I only got to email him a little since he sent me a message when we were in New York and I could only send a wee reply back."

Angela nodded, suddenly serious. "Uh-huh. Penn. Angelus made him hundreds of years ago." She shivered. "He grabbed Logan and I had to stake him. It was scary."

"And Logan was Logan. But he was friendly. Mostly. We didn't hang out alll that much."

"Oh my God, are you okay?" Rory asked, eyes wide. "I've never had to stake one of them - I don't even know what that would look like."

"Dusty," Angela said. "He was there, and he had Logan, and I -- did it, and then he was gone."

"I never want to do it again. Ever." She sounded very sure.

"How was everything else, though? What about Tahiti and seeing your family and all of that?" Rory asked, reaching into her bag and pulling out a bag of cookies, which she offered to Angela.

"Everything else was good," Angela said, taking a cookie. "Oh, my parents decided not to split up, go figure. And Tahiti is just beyond anything. It's so pretty it's like another planet."

"I'm glad your parents are sticking together," Rory said, leaning on the desk. "Any reason? And you do have pictures of everything, right?"

Parker came in after zig-zagging all over town for a bit, and talking to the Doctor (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/959113.html?thread=39339657#t39339657). "Hey, Rory. You busy?"

"Not in the slightest," Rory answered, looking up from her book. "Don't tell me I need to help you find something."

Parker grinned. "No, but I now join the ranks of those with a note for SC." She handed over the note Veronica (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/936322.html?thread=47933570#t47933570) had scribbled during the morning's workshop. "I'm supposed to find something to photograph that qualifies as 'leaves'? And I thought of the leaves of the books in Special Collections."

"Oooh." Rory checked the note. "I'm not sure what the policy is on the alumni teachers giving notes, but I guess this one's okay. Since we're just going back for pictures and stuff." She reached behind the desk. "Think we need the gloves, or will they just get in the way?"

Parker looked thoughtful, then reluctantly reached for the gloves. "Thanks. I think we better wear them. I may want to rearrange a few things, and there's no telling what we could bump into." She put them on carefully, then unsnapped her camera. "And I've got my library card with me, of course."

"Good," Rory said happily, tugging on her own gloves and heading towards the back. "How come you're photographing in SC rather than the main library?"

"The older books. With the prompt of the leaves, I thought they'd look cooler, spread out like leaves of a tree. There's one or two cool older books in the main library, but you know it'd take me forever to hunt them down." She followed Rory back, then smiled happily as they walked into SC. "Perfect. Maybe an arrangement, on that table over there. What do you think?"

"Sure, as long as you don't pick anything that can bite you," Rory said, running a fingertip over a few spines.

"Oh, definitely. I really don't need busted fingers when I've got this kind of an assignment," Parker responded, carefully taking down a couple books on horticulture, then trees, then one on shrubs, just for further visual punning. She arranged them on one of the tables, then photographed (http://www.sibstrin.ru/library/foto/old_books5.jpg) the result. "Pretty, but a little dull...."

Something rustled.
