"There are many fighting styles that have obtained their names from the way they seem to mimic the actions of certain animals," Tommy says, once the class has assembled. "One of these is the Stickbug." He demonstrates a series of moves, which seem to involve a lot of posing and holding still for moments at a time.

"Today, I'd like you guys to practice the Stickbug technique," Tommy instructs the class. "Either by yourself or find a partner to spar against."

[ooc: i'll be around sporadically till about 5pm pacific. after that, i'll be moving across town, so not so much.]

Either on your own, or find a sparring partner. Feel free to be as descriptive or vague as you want with actual fighty bits.

Phoebe looks around for a sparring partner as she does much better when she has someone to spar with.

Tyler nodded to the girl he had seen around. "Want to pair up?"

"Good," Tyler said, moving into fight stance. "I'm Tyler. A mightly Stickbug. So I should be a natural at this."

He managed not to giggle as he spoke.

"Ah," Phoebe said with a grin. "I didn't recognize you without the orange hair."

Tyler rolled his eyes a little. "It was a good look on me."

He imitated one of Dr. Oliver's poses in slow-motion. "Ready to start?"

Peter has to keep reminding himself that this is a serious workshop as he practices the Stickbug movements. He wouldn't be opposed to a partner to practice them with if any were in need.

Peter grinned and returned his nod. "Certainly. Otherwise I'll feel a right prat." He moved into the opening stance of the Mighty Stickbug form.

Pip moved into a fight stance, grinning. "Well, if it doesn't, I will have to give you an embaressing defeat. I'm required to, you see. Otherwise all the other French people won't talk to me any more."

Alanna looked to be in a good mood and was bouncing up on the balls of her feet, looking for someone to spar.

John starts practicing the moves, feeling utterly rediculous. Plus, he's adamant about not falling.

How is this gonna help him kick ass?

Although her eyes linger for a moment on a few people she wouldn't mind pairing up with for the excersize, Sakurazaki remembers that she's so accustomed to working alone that it's best she embark solo. She runs through what was demonstrated several clumbsy times, but once she's got the basic movements in her head, she refines and repeats them quickly and efficiently.

Demyx did a lot of posing, but not so much good form. Finally, he gave up and retreated to the corner with his sitar.
