It's a Monday. And a holiday. Work? Bah.

Yet here Tyler is, sitting behind the desk at the Fandom High Library paging through Slaughterhouse-5 Killingfloor-6. The library is open for business.

"I didn't hear about anyone going missing after that, no." Molly leaned over to look at Dawn's book. "Hats are good," she said with a grin.

Dawn crossed her eyes at Molly. "Well, of course you would think so." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a paperclip, some glitter, and piece of lint, which she used to mark the page. "But are they annoying enough, do you think? Says they're cheerful, but I think they mostly keep to themselves. We don't want that."

Molly giggled at Dawn.

"Hmm, probably not. We want something that is going to hang around and annoy them."

"Absolutely," Dawn said, turning her book forty-five degrees. Her eyes widened and she turned the page quickly.

Molly read for awhile longer before getting a little bored. She switched to a different book. "Find anything yet?" she asked.

"Yes, but a lot of them require summoning, which we don't want to get into," Dawn said, then showed Molly a page. "How do you feel about demon hedgehogs?"

Molly giggled. "So cute! And prickly." She grinned.

"But are they annoying?" Dawn looked concerned.

Molly frowned. "I don't know."

Dawn sighed. "I hate this part." She turned another page. "Ooh, I kind of like the gnome idea."

Molly had been idly flipping pages in her own book. She leaned over. "Gnomes? What would they do?"

"I'm not sure," Dawn said, turning the book so they could both read it. "I think it depends on the gnome. Oooh, dirt."

"Oh, what?"

"These like to dig in the dirt," she pointed to the picture, "Think the guys would like a bunch of tulips decorating the cabin?"

Molly snickered. "They're guys. They probably wouldn't even notice."

"Yeah, so that's a no..." Dawn sighed again.

Molly flipped through her own book again. "We need something that, like, gets into everything or makes annoying noises."

Dawn picked up another book, "I like the noises idea. Especially if they make them early."

"But not too loudly because we don't want to piss off other people as well," Molly said and also moved onto a different book.

"Good point. So, we're looking for noisy, but not too noisy gnomes that live in Fandom and don't eat people?" Dawn turned to the index. "That doesn't sound so hard."

Molly looked at the stack of books. "If you say so."

"Well," Dawn said, already dividing books into piles, "we know not to bother with anything that doesn't have gnomes in it. Then we look for types of gnomes, what they do, and what we have to do to attract them."

Molly sighed before sitting up straighter. "Okay. Gnomes, what they do, attracting them. Got it," she said and turned to the index.

"Thanks for helping me out with this, Molly." She leaned in a little. "So? Did you have the date? How did it go?"

Molly continued looking down at the book. "Yeah, we went out on Saturday afternoon. It was good, I guess. We talked the whole time so, that was... good."
