Library (05/04)

Not having ACJ to go to, Rory actually opened the library on time for once.

Which wasn't all that helpful, anyway, since she was mostly asleep still.

And now she's awake enough to play a little with her Jung paper on her laptop - though it should be noted, she's not once found a need to use the delete key.

Parker slept in, yay. Everything done meant she could do that.

"Hey. We're having a party in here tomorrow, the last time all the library aides will be here," Parker said as she came in. "Feasting and festiveness."

"It is, kind of. I'm glad we got this semester working together here. But you know Janet and Zero are both moving on to better and less-contract-ridden things." She grinned. "Besides, you know we'll still be in and out of here all the time. Bugging you. Checking on SC. Making sure the Librarian is still alive."

"Yeah, it's just scary to think that Angela and I are going to be the ones with seniority next year," Rory sighed. "I mean, I can barely handle SC as it is."

"Just let it know you're not trying to mess with it. You're an Aide, it needs coffee and snark from you, it'll cut you slack for that." Parker smiled, then sighed. "Now I have to figure out what I'm doing next semester. My dad won't be happy I'm only taking three classes; I'll need something else to keep busy besides StuCo."

"I can't overload on classes like I did first semester," Rory decided. "But I might run for StuCo. And if Chloe's letting anyone go for the job, I might try for editor of the paper."

"I know. At least some of them are sticking around through summer. I know Anakin's going to try, and Veronica and Piper told me they are. I don't know about anyone else." She frowned. "I can't imagine that summer's really Angel's thing, what with the whole sun issue. But maybe he'll just stay inside, like he has all year."

"Callisto's going home?" Angela looked gloomy. "I guess I kind of imagined her staying with Angel, somehow. But yeah, I don't think he's exactly going to spend the season at the beach. Then again, he did live in California, so."

Archie came in with a few scrawled notes in hand and a slightly perplexed look on his face. "Hello, Rory!" he said, waving at her. "I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello to you on the radio on Tuesday. I don't suppose you've seen my boat, have you?"

Rory reached into a bag by her feet. "Um. This boat?" she asked sheepishly, pulling a toy yacht out.

"You're completely forgiven," Archie told her sincerely, leaning forward and smiling. "Although Veronica did promise to exact retribution on the perpetrator -- I believe her exact words were 'beat them up til they give it back.' I wouldn't want that to happen."

He looked down for a moment and drew a breath. "I had been intending to give you one of them soon, anyhow. To remember me by."
