Ivanova? Also laughing. But in the nicest way possible.

"Hey, so am I and I still enjoy the occasional opposite-gender smooch," she said with a gleeful grin.

Occasional being a key word, there. "I'm kinda hoping I can make it a regular thing." And from what Walter said last night, so was he.

But now he's had a whole night and half a day to change his mind. . . .

Cue flailing.

"Can make what a regular thing?" Pip asked, sitting down with a tray and the ever present cigarette.

Just call Nadia Blushy McFlailerson.

"Something wrong?" Pip asked. "You're blushing. And flailing."

With great effort, Nadia calmed herself. Then she pushed her food to one side and thumped her head down onto the table.

"Walter." She muttered. Then something that sounded like it ended in "issage"

Pip leaned down and spoke to Nadia. "I'm sorry, did you say Walter and kissage?"

She nodded very slowly into the table.

Pip clapped Nadia on the back. "Good work!"

"That's what I've been trying to tell her," Ivanova put in, grinning broadly.

She lifted her head up just enough to peer at them. "And what if he regrets it, or something?"

"And what if I had zigged instead of zagged and, instead of having a number of scars, been dead? Too many what if's to worry about that kind of stuff, Nadia."

"How was your weekend, by the way?" Ivanova asked chipperly. "Looks like you had as interesting a time as I did." She indicated her fading black eye and the faint row of stitches over the other.

"Made some money. Got in a huge arse knife fight with a guy. Won, but ended up with a bunch of stitches all over my chest and back. Probably make for some interesting scars."

Ivanova winced. "My sympathies. Maia and I headed to Babylon 5 for a "simple diplomatic mission"." She snorted. "Simple, my attractive posterior."

"It is an attractive posterior," Pip said. "Though from your eye, I doubt the mission was a simple one."

"Maia ended up kidnapped by Drazi and I got this beauty when I helped the security force rescue her. I am going to kill John for dragging me home like that."

Pip nodded. "The other mercs had to keep me from slugging my grandfather. They ssaid it'd reopen my wounds."

Ivanova laughed. "I think that's about what Stephen told me, too." She poked at her seled. "But back to making Nadia blush and flail even more . . ."

Kissage or death ~~or cake~~? These things are not the same, even to a sixteen year old with a very, very big crush.

"That's not the same."

Wait, why is she arguing? Because Walter's gay? Oh yeah. But he said he liked it. that was last night. Mmm. Last night. hey! let's stay focused on the flailing here!

"Okay, it is, kind of." She sat up, resting her elbows on the table. "How was your day, Pip?"

"Not bad," Pip said. "The laundry machine took a pair of my cameo pants, though. And why are you arguing with me?"

"They're on strike. I heard about that." Nadia sighed. She started to tell Pip that Walter was gay, which he knew, that he'd just broken up with Victor a little while ago, which he knew and break-ups hadn't stopped very many couples around here, and that she was afraid Walter hadn't liked it, which she knew wasn't true because Walter had said he had. So she shook her head. "I have no idea."
