Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday [all day]

Today there was a ring of chairs in the middle of the park, so that was fine. Musical chairs was a very normal game to play!

Of course, this was Anakin...

"Today we're playing Musical Shares!" Anakin announced through his completely superfluous megaphone. "It will be one giant team building exercise!"

That seemed ominous. "Come get your shirts!"

Anakin read out his names for the day:
Prompto
Aphra
Raiden
Gray
Steve M
Libby
Steph
Gladio
Stark
Graham
Beta
Steve R
Eleanor
Ignis
Rey
Vi

Well. At least there was no chocolate pudding or packing peanuts yet?

Ohhhh, Summer remembered this one from last year. Specifically, she may be remembering a particular awkwardness in landing on a particular someone's lap that would not be nearly so awkward now. But as she started to see who was around this week, she was definitely getting distracted thinking of what it would be like if things panned out that certain tattooed gym owners ended up landing in her lap.

He would absolutely crush her, but, goddamn, what a way to go...

She was, in fact, so distracted by this now that she realized people were starting to get going and wondering if she'd managed to miss her name being called, which, you know, her own name being spoken was one of her favorite things ever, she was not going to just miss it, right?

Meanwhile, Prompto, who was still showing up to these things because they seemed to entertain his kid and inspire absolutely amazing ideas that he was surprised he hadn't been murdered over yet, was shocked to actually hear his name being called out. Sure, sure, he knew it was always a possibility and that he was honestly tempting fate by showing up, and he did sort of wonder what he was going to do if he did get called and if he could make an appeal to Anakin for a baby pass.

...wait a second. Baby pass! Prompto listened closely for names that weren't called, realized Summer wasn't on the list of participants today, and prompt(heh)ly had a spark of an idea.

"Summer! Perfect! Here! Take my baby!"

"Wait, what?" asked Summer, who was suddenly pulled out of some very enjoyable daydreams and having a strawberry-clad baby being shoved at her, and, before she could even process what was happening, Prompto had gone scampering off down toward the activity area.

"God--" she started, then cut herself off as she stared at the baby in her hands. Noctra, for her part, seemed totally fine and normal with this handoff to a complete stranger and looked at Summer and blew a few spit bubbles at her with a gurgle, and Summer's entire face wrinkled.

So apparently she was stuck with a baby now.

"Fine!" she shouted out after Prompto, before shifting Noctra and cradling her in her arms. "That's fine! Just don't get mad at me when I sell her to China on the black market, okay? Honestly! Who just hands their baby over to a stranger?"

Uh, Summer, you literally planned this man's wedding and made sure Shunsui signed his paychecks but okay.

In an effort to apparently 'ride this momentum' of Ignis' return to being more social, Gladio had managed to convince him to give the Wednesday Activity a try this week. If anything, he supposed there might be a certain challenge inherent in it, since he was automatically at a disadvantage to everyone unless it was specifically something done with blindfolds, in which case, he expected to completely dominate the whole thing, but this seemed...somewhere nicely in the middle. He might have a bit of a harder time with locating the chairs than others, but he knew he would have far less distractions and could also focus on them a bit more.

He did, however, know one thing for absolute certain:

"Please no one tell me how terrible these shirts actually are," he declared as he, reluctantly but dutifully, went to pull his on over his head.

Aphra was eyeing you and your chairs and your non-terrible shirts with deep suspicion, Anakin.

Once Libby got her shirt, she was actually sending a long, rueful, withering glance down the way toward Anakin, because he really was off his game with these shirts! How was she supposed to make her best friend back home jealous by her growing collection of terribly awful shirts if the shirts weren't actually terribly awful??

She was so disappointed in this summer's selection so far, but maybe, just maybe, that meant he was saving up the really good stuff for later.

Vi was feeling a lot less like death warmed up today, even if she was still buried in her hoody.

Eleanor was mostly just trying to envision how this was all supposed to work out, but nothing would prepare her for the actual doing of it.

(Nor would it prevent her from thinking, a bit darkly, that he particular powers would be incredibly useful at a game like this, but what a thing to use them on).

As the chairs started to dwindle, Gladio was keeping himself pretty low to the ground to do whoever wound up with him on a chair a favor by being the first one with his butt in the seat. And it just so happened that his strategy had worked out well, because when the music stopped, not only was he conveniently right there, but he noticed Ignis nearby, as well, and, helpfully, snagged him to pull him in onto his chair as well.

"This part is too easy," Steve said, frowning as he looked at his fellow players. Stacking some of them would be a problem. Raiden, Rogers, and Gladio on a chair, while hilarious, was probably bad for something structural.

Okay, this could get awkward. All Steve saw were students. Female students.

Oh, Steve, no.

Steve slid onto the chair. "Okay, three more!"
