Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday [all day]

Today there was a ring of chairs in the middle of the park, so that was fine. Musical chairs was a very normal game to play!

Of course, this was Anakin...

"Today we're playing Musical Shares!" Anakin announced through his completely superfluous megaphone. "It will be one giant team building exercise!"

That seemed ominous. "Come get your shirts!"

Anakin read out his names for the day:

Well. At least there was no chocolate pudding or packing peanuts ~~yet~~?

Your shirts aren't horrible! Anakin must be off his game.

In an effort to apparently 'ride this momentum' of Ignis' return to being more social, Gladio had managed to convince him to give the Wednesday Activity a try this week. If anything, he supposed there might be a certain challenge inherent in it, since he was automatically at a disadvantage to everyone unless it was specifically something done with blindfolds, in which case, he expected to completely dominate the whole thing, but this seemed...somewhere nicely in the middle. He might have a bit of a harder time with locating the chairs than others, but he knew he would have far less distractions and could also focus on them a bit more.

He did, however, know one thing for absolute certain:

"Please no one tell me how terrible these shirts actually are," he declared as he, reluctantly but dutifully, went to pull his on over his head.

Aphra was eyeing you and your chairs and your non-terrible shirts with deep suspicion, Anakin.

Once Libby got her shirt, she was actually sending a long, rueful, withering glance down the way toward Anakin, because he really was off his game with these shirts! How was she supposed to make her best friend back home jealous by her growing collection of terribly awful shirts if the shirts weren't actually terribly awful??

She was so disappointed in this summer's selection so far, but maybe, just maybe, that meant he was saving up the really good stuff for later.

Vi was feeling a lot less like death warmed up today, even if she was still buried in her hoody.

Was Steph still semi-hovering out of concern? Of course she was. Granted, her expression was slightly crestfallen because the weirdness of this week's shirt was a bit of a letdown, but mainly she was worried about Vi.

Vi leaned in against Steph. She wasn't actually going to say it, but the hovering felt nice.

"Sure you're up to this today?" Steph asked in a low voice.

"Yeah," she said, having missed the last iteration of this thanks to moping. "How bad can it be?"

Steph gestured broadly toward Anakin. "You really sure you want to ask that question?"

"Good point," Vi said pressing her face against Steph's shoulder. "But we're here now."

Steph leaned her head against Vi's. "If you feel like you need to tap out at any point, do it, okay? You don't have to wear yourself out for the sake of this goofy shit."

"I'll let you know if I want to head home," Vi promised.

Steph, satisfied with that answer, nodded and reached up to ruffle her hair affectionately. "Please don't make me end up having to carry your passed-out ass home. I'll do it if I have to, but then I reserve the right to give you shit about it forever afterward."

Vi grinned at her. "Don't worry, I'll save you from having to do something that sounds really hot."

"Yeah, hot as in sweating to death from the effort involved," Steph retorted cheerfully. "It wouldn't be pretty, so let's avoid it happening."

She'd barely trailed off when she added, "The sight of me struggling to carry you wouldn't be pretty, I mean. You would be, passed out or not."

"Wait, you think I'm pretty?"

Smart ass.

"Oh, I know, there was literally nothing that could possibly have clued you in to that possibility," Steph said with a playful roll of her eyes. "Yeah, you got me. That's my secret. I think you're so pretty, I don't know what to do with myself."

"I have a few ideas about what to do with you," Vi said.

Admittedly at the moment they mostly involved cuddling and naps.

"Yeah, I bet you do," Steph replied in a tone that suggested that cuddling and naps were definitely going to be the extent of it.

"Can't wait to share them with you." They'd be the best cuddles and naps that Steph had ever had.

Eleanor was mostly just trying to envision how this was all supposed to work out, but nothing would prepare her for the actual doing of it.

(Nor would it prevent her from thinking, a bit darkly, that he particular powers would be incredibly useful at a game like this, but what a thing to use them on).

Oh, Beta was deeply suspicious about the shirts. Surely something else was going to go horribly awry to fill that vacuum, right?

Stark just sighed and changed his shirt. And maybe looked around for a certain someone. Maybe.

After the last couple conversations about, you know, pudding and packing peanuts, Rey was so, so worried about how this might go.
