"Well, cake instead of cookies," Rory said. "And these guys were foreign critters, so I had to give them a stern look and add some random French words."

"Ooh. Good move. I'll have to remember that for future use," Peter said. "So, aside from quashing revolutions, how go things? Getting ready for prom and/or finals?"

"Mostly ready for prom, getting ready for finals, much less ready for this weekend," Rory said, making a face.

"Why? What's this weekend? Besides prom," Peter asked.

"Taking Anakin home to meet the grandparents," Rory said, wrinkling her nose. "For journalism."

"Ah. I met Zero's siblings yesterday. For journalism," Peter said, nodding. "Are they likely to threaten a boy their granddaughter brings home for journalism? Or are they nice?"

"I'm more concerned about his appearance. They're very...'Oh, would you care to come to my DAR garden party and then smoke a cigar with some cognac with the boys after in the billards room?' -ish," Rory explained. "And I'm bringing Mr. Tall, Robed and Braided."

"Ah. That makes sense," Peter said. "What if they knew he wasn't from Earth? Would that freak them out more or less than the hippie monk look? Because that could potentially be a great distraction."

"They'd think he was insane," Rory replied, shaking his head. "I'm just going to tell them he's a monk, and the hair thing is part of his penance. Because it's close enough to the truth, really, and they're too polite to ask questions."

"And high society politeness gives an easy win once again," Peter said.

"It's good that you have a plan, at least. I just went to Zero's with 'be nice' and 'don't say anything stupid' in mind. It worked out okay, though."

"You seem to be in one piece, at least," Rory noted. "Always a good sign."

[and let's all pretend that I didn't accidentally have Rory switch genders in the above comment. *headdesks* *a lot*]

"You should have seen me at the hospital when they had to stitch my arm back on. It wasn't pretty," Peter joked.

"Hey, I have a serious question for you and I'm ashamed to admit that I actually stopped to talk to you just because of this."

[OOC: I hadn't even noticed.]

Rory arched a brow. "Shoot."

"What flowers don't clash with blue hair? I have no clue what her dress is like but her sister's boyfriend designed it and he's a big name professional designer guy so he probably made it work with her hair and Angela told me to ask you about girly stuff. So. Flowers. What works?" Peter finally took a breath.

Rory stared at him. "Breathe. Um, white's your best bet, since it goes with everything. Red, yellow and orange are all out because they'd look weird. Same goes for pink. You could go with something like black or very dark roses, or white, or get creative and go with white orchids or lilies. I assume we're talking corsages, right?"

"I assume so. I'm clueless with this prom thing if you hadn't noticed," Peter said. "And this is Zero, so creativity would probably be a good thing."

"Yeah, so you want to go with something unique. Do you know the color of her dress, at least?" Rory asked. "Because you don't want to clash with that either."

"I know nothing of the dress. It's supposed to be a surprise," Peter said. "I just know that I'm putting a lot of faith in this Claude guy to not mess with me and I hope he comes through."

"I'd go with white, then," Rory said with an air of finality. "Hedge your bets. Stick to an unusual flower if you can, though - and avoid roses like the plague."

"Roses carry the plague, go with a hedge. Gotcha," Peter said. "Thank you for the help and sorry for springing that on you."

"No problem," Rory said, not bothering to correct him since she was pretty sure he was just kidding.

"So, would it be safe to assume that you're going with Anakin? Just a night out with a friend?" Peter asked. He was curious about something.

Rory nodded. "S'what happens when very good friends are single simultaneously around prom, right?"

"Is he going to be wearing a tux? Or does he have really fancy robes?" Peter asked.

"I...don't know," Rory said thoughtfully. "I have a dress, but I don't know what he's wearing."
