The park was space themed today (thanks for the help, squirrels). For a given and confusing value of “space themed.” There was a space-themed inflatable obstacle course. There were star and planet decorations hung up everywhere (who had hung them up? Possibly squirrels). There were little toy spaceships. There was a large inflatable pool full of very dark and glittery jello.

The only thing missing today was Anakin. In his place was Stark, looking a bit lost even though he’d somehow planned all of this. Actually, the megaphone was missing as well. Stark was just going to yell instead.

“Anakin isn’t here but he wanted me to do this. I don’t know why. I don’t know why he does anything.” Did anyone truly understand Anakin’s motivations?

“We have 4 different activities today. An obstacle course. Stomp rockets. Planetary rings. And…jello.” Everyone, be sure to thank Summer for activity number 4!

“Listen for your names, collect your shirts, and…enjoy? Oh. And no powers.” That was cheating!

You always wanted a space Hawaiian shirt, didn't you?

Two members from each team (Miguel+Alara, Libby+Rey, Hannibal+Vi, Sakaki+Isabela) will race through the bouncy obstacle course. Best combined time wins!

The next member of each team (Graham, Lana, Jon, Eddie) will build some stomp rockets with moddable materials. Farthest launch wins!

The next group of competitors (Steph, Belle, Jo, Guillermo) has to throw 4 rings around a planet. The rings get smaller each time and you have to throw from farther away. At least it isn't messy at all!

No, it’s not wrestling. Well, it’s not meant to be wrestling. It can absolutely devolve into wrestling. The final competitors from each team (Will, Sidon, Summer, Goose) have to climb into the pool full of dark, glittery jello that you really can't see through and search for some moddable space toys! First player to place 3 items in their team’s space bucket wins.

Oh no, did Stark forget to explicitly state that you can’t steal items from someone else before they make it to a bucket? GO WILD!

Miguel looked at Alara and smirked. "I think we've got this." After all, having super strength and speed wasn't a power if you couldn't turn it off.

"As long as I don't pop the thing with my talons."

You've won the prize that doesn't exist. Bragging rights? Shirts? A teammate covered in jello?

He's here. He'll even accept a jello-y hug in Anakin's stead.

"Oh, isn't it precious?" Isabela said, looking at her shirt, which was indeed adorable.

Steph laughed as she put the shirt on. "This is actually pretty awesome, not gonna lie."

Vi was especially careful with the sleeve removal this week, since this was a shirt that looked like it was worth keeping.

How the hell did Steph manage to do this before everyone else? No idea. She was just going to say she rolled a real-life natural 20, because while she had pretty good hand-eye coordination for other things that she did, she wasn't sure how any of them translated into ring toss. But hey. She'd take it.

There was probably a great many jokes that could be made about Isabela and bouncy obstacles courses, and she was thinking more than a few of of them as she looked around for her teammate.

"Are we allowed to have non-terrible shirts?" Vi asked as she came up to Steph, casually moving to sling an arm over her shoulder. "I thought there was a rule about that."

Because Vi was so respectful of the rules.

The look Steph gave her as she reached out to put an arm around her waist in return actually said yeah, because you and rules get along so well.

"Unless Stark secretly has an even worse bizarre-evil streak than Anakin does, I think we might have lucked out this week."

"I mean there is a pool full of jello," Vi pointed out. "But yeah, this seems pretty normal. Normal for here at least."

Dwight was relieved when his name wasn't called and decided to stick around for a bit and watch the fun. He could use the break and time out of the shop anyway.

"You think that means we shouldn't trust it?" asked Steph, who was absolutely not thinking about wrestling in the pool of jello with Vi.

Not for more than two seconds anyway.

"Ohmygod," said Summer, holding out her shirt to admire it before she put it on, "the only thing wrong with this shirt is that it isn't pink."

Can you imagine???

She would totally be wearing it behind the bar tonight if that post hadn't already been made!

Luckily for everyone involved, neither of them were doing that round.

"You say that like I trust anything to begin with," Vi joked. "Except you."

"I'm just going to start out by saying," Summer declared, holding up her hands and sending an unapologetic grin over to her competitors, "the planets have clearly been aligned for something, it's been nice knowing you guys, I'll see you jerks on the otherside with a bucket full of that sweet, sweet jello swag."

And, with that, she wasted not a second more in jumping right into that pool and getting to work.

And boy would it be embarrassing if she didn't end up winning this one, huh?

Luckily for everyone including themselves and their continued efforts at denial.

Steph grinned a little bit, because hearing that kind of felt nice, but she tried to give Vi a light nudge with her shoulder. "Please tell me I'm not actually the only person you trust."

Sorry, Isabela.

"I mean back home there's Powder," Vi replied after possibly a moment or two longer than Steph would've liked. "And Ekko, and I guess Libs and Illyana here, but you, you're the one I trust the most. It's...hard."
