Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

It was unseasonably warm in Fandom today, which was good news for anyone who didn't want to have to worry about bundling up, and bad news for anyone hoping for a snowy picnic. Traditions were traditions though, so there was still a bonfire going and plenty of supplies for s'mores and hot chocolate among the variety of foods and drinks that had been prepared for the new folks.

Once everything was set up and un-tasteful amounts of glitter had been brushed off of everything, it was time to be welcoming!

"That entire weekend was strange," Jon said. "But I'm glad you got home. I imagine it's strange going back to the fifties after living here. But we both got to listen to the queen's speech, even if they were different ones."

"I thought they were going to be upset that I was a few days late but it turns out there was a massive fog in London and they thought I got held up in the chaos," Jo revealed, she was rather glad that she didn't have to explain things like time loops to her parents, "it was rather peculiar being back home after being at Fandom but it was nice to be home at Christmas and listening to the Queen's speech," she nodded, "I am glad to be back though, I don't think I could go back to living at home after being here," she admitted.

"That sounds...difficult," Jon said awkwardly. "But I...I'm glad you could come back."

"Me too," she nodded with a small smile, "I'm looking forward to classes starting," which was something she never thought she would ever say, "I did sign up for your class this semester," she told him.

At this point Jo didn't realise she was going to be doing PE this semester or she may not have been looking as forward to classes starting.

"Oh, good!" Jon smiled. "You'll get to see all kinds of films this time, too. They've come a long way, if you haven't seen any recent ones."

“I haven’t seen most of the recent ones,” Jo admitted, with a shake of her head, “I wasn’t really sure where to start, there’s quite a lot of options to choose from,”
