Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

It was unseasonably warm in Fandom today, which was good news for anyone who didn't want to have to worry about bundling up, and bad news for anyone hoping for a snowy picnic. Traditions were traditions though, so there was still a bonfire going and plenty of supplies for s'mores and hot chocolate among the variety of foods and drinks that had been prepared for the new folks.

Once everything was set up and un-tasteful amounts of glitter had been brushed off of everything, it was time to be welcoming!

Illyana was getting her third round of food when she did a double-take at familiar-but-not face.

Second time that day someone actually seemed to know him, and it still stuck him as a little surprising.

"Yes.. I'm Kurt. Kurt Wagner" he said with a shy smile as he studied the blonde girl and tried to figure out if he knew her.

Course... from what Dr. Lecter had said earlier, she could know him from the future or even some other alternate timeline. Man, this place really was a bit weird wasn't it?"

Illyana studied him for a moment, taking in the differences.

"You don't recognize me," she guessed. "So, either different timelines, or a different reality."

"Have you met a Piotr Rasputin yet? A real Colossus of a guy."

Yes, 'Yana thought she was funny.

"Ah Piotr!" Kurt said with a nod. "Yes he was at the Academy with us."

He looked at her for a moment and then have a small smile, as it clicked for him.

"Are you Illyana? He spoke of his sister often."

Illyana gave a slightly rueful smile. "The Academy, huh? Then we must be slightly different realities. My brother attended the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

"I'm Illyana, but probably a very different Illyana than Piotr talked about. I'm not five, for starters."

Kurt gave a nod. This whole different time lines and what not was still a bit to wrap one's head around. "Well, it's still nice to meet you...this version of you... Illyana. How have you like living here? The school, the island... all of it?"

Though, now he couldn't help but wonder how many other people here might have some connection to him or know him in some other time line or universe. Because, really... he had met two in one afternoon already!

Illyana rolled her eyes. "I am here because I require 'peer group interactions to be emotionally well-rounded,'" she said, giving air quotes the words that both Strange and Doc Samson had told her repeatedly. "Apparently, being holed-up in the Sanctum studying magic constantly is fine for Strange and Wong because they're adults, but I need to 'learn how to people.'"

"It was this or Xavier's, and considering I already ran away from there once, here is better. No one thinks I am a freak, or if they do, they are well-mannered enough not to say it out loud."
