Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

It was unseasonably warm in Fandom today, which was good news for anyone who didn't want to have to worry about bundling up, and bad news for anyone hoping for a snowy picnic. Traditions were traditions though, so there was still a bonfire going and plenty of supplies for s'mores and hot chocolate among the variety of foods and drinks that had been prepared for the new folks.

Once everything was set up and un-tasteful amounts of glitter had been brushed off of everything, it was time to be welcoming!

"You are?" It was hard not to be pleased at the fact that someone was not only taking his class, but that they were apparently interested in it enough to come talk to him before hand. "Oh, that's great! It's nice to meet you, Alara! Are you a big fan of photography already, or are you coming into this new?"

“Same here,” she said, still rather nervous since she wasn’t sure if admitting to breaking into a teacher’s office was necessarily a good thing for her to do, even if it had been a couple of months ago, “um … photography’s new … I’ve only had experience with… I think it’s called instagram?” she tried to remember what the app was called.

"Oh, Instagram's a great start!" Prompto said encouragingly. "I love Instagram! We're definitely going to be covering that and other photo apps in class at some point, so you'll be ahead of the game for that one!"

“I also kind of wanted to talk to you about that, um…” Alara hesistated, “that was me who sent those photos of your office last semester … for the heist,” in case Prompto thought she had broken into his office at other times during the semester, “I .. I wanted to apologise for that before class started, I .. I don’t normally go round breaking into teachers’ offices,” she added quickly.

"For the...heist?" Prompto asked, tilting his head a little bit in confusion before his memory jogged a little and he suddenly realized what Alara was talking about. "Oh! Right! For Dectective Diaz's class, right?"

His grin got a little wider as he remembered it better now. "Those were some pretty good pictures," he said, "and I think you're the only one who actually got in there, so good job on that! But it is good to know you don't make a habit out of breaking into them. I think some of the teachers might be a little irritated about that."

He couldn't help snickering a little, though, as he said it, thinking about his own forays breaking into a certain office all the time when he was a student, but was it really breaking in if the teacher knew you were doing it and totally allowed it?

"Oh that was my actually my first time with instagram and taking photos in general," she admitted, "we don't have social media on Xelaya so I was actually a bit surprised I didn't caught,"

Well technically she got caught on the security cameras but she didn't get caught by an actual teacher.

"I definitely don't want to make it a habit," she assured him, she had probably been pushing her luck with the heist as it was, "but um I thought it would be better to talk to you before class started about it ...then...um in the actual class,"

...wait a second. Prompto's head tilted a little as he started to catch onto the fact that this girl was telling him all of this because maybe she'd actually felt a little bad about breaking into his office.

Which was...

...kind of sweet, actually.

"I mean," he offered with a faint smile, "you were just following the assignment, though, right?"

"It was for the assignment, I don't think I would have even considered the idea of breaking into a teacher's office before the heist," she admitted with a nod, "I've never been in trouble ... at least at school I haven't," her home life was a completely different story.
