"Good morning and welcome to the Fandom Pentathlon!" Anakin said through his bullhorn, surrounded by bunting and Olympic rings. "In the spirit of the Olympic games, we too will be competing in teams in fencing, shooting, cross-country running--"

Beaker beside him was looking more and more panicked. "Meep meep meep meep meep!"

Anakin put down the bullhorn. "You what?"

"Meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep--"

Anakin listened to the extensive explanation with a long sigh. "So. Slight mixup. Beaker has pulled five Olympic sports from a hat and that is what you will be competing! So: skateboarding, pairs canoe slalom, beach volleyball, archery, and equestrian jumping."

More meeping.

"Really? We could not find horses. So...alot of jumping." The alots--kind of buffalo-adjacent but made out of springs--in their pens made alot of noise. Anakin sighed again. "Here goes nothing. Listen for your names."

Of course, there was water involved in this.

"Darling." Irene just gestured at their shirts a little helplessly. "We all look very silly. Best to just look forward to when we'll look less silly than the others, because our hair will be all right."

"You do have amazing hair as well," Tahani conceded because she wasn't at all invested in winning this and Irene had lovely hair.

"Thank you," Irene acknowledged, lightly patting her updo and clearly steeling herself. "And I'd bet that like mine, yours is just good genes, so we will surely survive this ordeal with our beautiful hair intact."

This was actually sort of helping Irene. Like, coaching Tahani through the hair problem was helping her deal with the hair problem, herself. And the shirt problem. And the all-of-this problem.

"I can teach you a trick so it goes faster," Irene assured her. "It shouldn't take longer than thirty or so seconds."

The trick was drawing faster. That was the whole trick.

(Not that Irene wanted to get in the boat, either.)

"It doesn't look like it should be too hard, at least," Sakaki offered, trying to stay positive and not worry about the fact that not only had she never done anything like this herself before, but, apparently, her partner was from a desert, following suit by gearing up.

It would be fine. Sakaki was stupid good at anything sports-related for no good reason at all...unless there were somehow cats involved, apparently.

It definitely wasn't the scariest thing she'd ever do on water.

"Okay," Prompto grinned, even as he winced as putting on that helmet was definitely going to ruin his hair, but, then again, so was the water, "so this one looks like fun!"

It helped soothe the wound that went with not getting to skateboard, that skate set-up looked awesome!
