Did Anakin look weirdly chipper today? It was because he was just so excited about field day! Really! There were a number of stations set up around the park with varying degrees of ridiculousness that would definitely not be funny only for people watching.

Cough. Really.

"We will be in three teams of nine today!" Anakin yelled into the bullhorn, "so come up and get your t-shirts!"

Whether everyone would stay clothed was another question. And no, Anakin had no idea where these clearly-intended-for-various-elementary-schools shirts came from and how they might only fit Beaker.

...they might only fit Beaker.

Beaker had definitely ordered these.

Drop and Pop Relay

This is for the first three members of each team (Prompto, Faye, Rey; Rosa, Clare, Sidon; and Amaya, Ignis, and Alara).

The first member of the team carries a balloon from the bucket of balloons to the
chair located 100 yards away, drops the balloon on the chair, and then sits on the balloon until it pops and mods what the substance inside the balloon was. Then they run back and tag the next member of the team and it repeats until all of the team members have sat on balloons and are covered in something gross.

Anakin loves you!

Prompto, meanwhile, thought he was just going to let Rey and Faye (heh, they rhymed!) argue it out amongst themselves, but he was suddenly seized by a bout of inspirational encouragement like he was Sidon or something and called out, striking a dramatic pose with one hand on his hips and the other pointing forward toward the chairs.

"Go forth, Team Feild Day Be With You!" he pronounced. "The chairs await!"

So maybe the shirt wasn't going to fit Rosa that great after all, meaning her arms were now stuck up as she went down for the first activity, but that wasn't going to stop her. She was just going to have to take that balloon between her lifted hands and fucking piroette her way over to the chair if she had to, dammit!

And Sidon, for his part, feeling terribly nervous about his own turn because he had claws and claws and balloons did not go well together, was just going to lean forward intently as he watched Rosa take her turn, too caught up in the tension to even remember to cheer her on!

Oh, Amaya was going to drop her balloon on her chair, alright. Amaya was going to not only drop her balloon on her chair, but also herself, in what could only be described as rather than sitting on it, she was just going to suplex the whole thing by crashing her elbow down onto it, splattering herself spectacularly, and just about ready to fight with anyone who would try and tell her that that didn't count.

Alara was ready for her turn when she suddenly found herself lying down on the ground instead.

She wasn’t sure how she was going to complete this challenge but somehow she managed.

Wheelbarrow Race

This is for the next two team members (Astrid & Steve M; Sakaki & Tisarwat sorry, L.S.; and Shunsui & Harry)!

One team member grabs the other team member by the ankles and uses them as a wheelbarrow to navigate around a series of small orange cones because walking in a straight line was way too easy for Shenanigans.

It was a good thing Astrid was already sitting and listening intently to Steve, but she nodded. "I have," she said, surprisingly serious for what they were going to be doing. "I think this will work well between the two of us, too."

Tisarwat had gotten comfortable sitting and watching the first round, so when it came to her turn, she looked up at her partner and couldn't help asking, "You think we could sit this one out?"

Sakaki ducked her head, brushing her hair behind her ear as she considered it. She knew she usually excelled at the sorts of sports things, and there wasn't even a height difference between her and her partner to make it exceptionally awkward, so she thought they would do well, but if Tisarwat didn't want to...

While Shunsui was rather disappointed to not be paired with a beautiful lady, there at least was a beautiful lady involved in this activity now.

Balloon Launch

This is for the last four team members (Tahani, Jaskier, Stark, Barry; Wanda, Ben, Alexis, Din; and Summer, Troy, Beaker, Enola)

The first two named team members hold the arms of the water balloon launcher while the third person launches the balloons the fourth person hands them. You are aiming at a huge target and are trying to hit it five times with balloons. Not with Beaker.

Okay, this actually looked pretty fun. And Anakin hadn't said anything about not using powers so she was more than happy to do the holding of the arms here without pulling any muscles.

Enola felt extremely happy about her chances here. "Come along boys... er. Boy and whatever you are," Enola said, cheerfully. "I feel very good about our changes here. Let's show these other teams what we can do!"

She picked up the water balloon and giggled. "I've never seen one of these before! How delightful!"

Three-Way Tug of War

Because it's not really Field Day without a tug of war, right?

Anakin has you placed around the pond because of course he has. Everyone's involved, everyone pulls!

"No powers in the tug of war," Anakin specified.

Peace, Love, Field Day is the winner because honestly, having Sidon on your team means you win, but everyone's wet by the end.

Barry was utterly and completely serious about this event. SO SERIOUS. He glared at the other team in utter seriousness verging on a scowl.

"We must win this!" He exclaimed. "Or there could be very dire consequences. Dire I say!"

Sidon grinned brightly, and it would surprise no one that he beamed at his team as he pumped his fist across his chest and dazzled them all with a sparkly, fangy grin.

"Let's go, Team Peace, Love, and Field Day! We can do this! I believe in you!"

Not only could he throw the team to be extremely overmatched, but he could also be a good cheerleader, too!
