BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge- Saturday morning
As much as Maeve didn't want to admit that she was nervous, she really was. This was big. It was a new school, a new country, a second chance that she really didn't want to screw up.
She seemed to be the first one here- at least the glittery sign told her she was in the right place, and she was a little annoyed by it on principle- so she found a seat, piled her bags around her, and pulled out a book to read while she waited.
While she looked pretty engrossed in it, anytime she saw someone pass by her eyes flicked up like she was expecting them to come sit nearby.

Re: Wait for the shuttle
Then the nothingness dropped away and he was falling again. He braced himself for a terrible landing on the rocks below, but instead he landed on his back with no more force than if he'd fallen off his chair.
Chenqing landed next to him. The black flute bounced once before settling near his hand, its red tassel splayed out on the floor.
Wei Wuxian lay there for a moment, to see if the floor would drop away and send him falling again, but when it did not, he picked up his flute and pulled himself to his feet. He brushed off his black and red robes and looked around at the scene where he'd landed.
[OOC: He just dropped out of thin air.]
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Maeve looked up from her book, to him, and then up at the ceiling, and wondered if maybe this was like some TikTok prank thing?
"Hey," she said, and flipped a page.

Still not convinced she wasn't being recorded.

She wondered how he'd kept his clothes, though.

Re: Wait for the shuttle
Well. Probably he hadn't.
"Is it all natural fibers?" Arabella asked. "Is that the secret?"
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Well, it sort of did. Bamboo had carbon in it, didn't it? Probably?
"My sister teleported once and the only thing she got to keep was a piece of chalk."

"Okay, someone please tell me someone else saw that," he demanded, after a moment of staring, because subtly was not usually his strong suit, but no one seemed hurt, so now he was just worried about his brain.

Re: Wait for the shuttle
"Well, yeah," he said, obviously the epitome of smooth, "obviously, a teleport." He had a scoff of his own now. "I mean, I knew that, I was just....you know, confirming."
They had teleports here? What, and why, and most importantly, how did he get one?? Did it hurt? Did it do weird things to your butt?

Re: Wait for the shuttle
"I mean," he scoffed a little, ignoring that it was definitely way too warm and uncomfortable in this room right now for his letter jacket, yeah, of...course they do, they just...do it...in...visibly, so, that's...why I was...so suprrised, you know, because you were so...visible..."
Yeah, even Troy had given up on that about halfway through it, and he thought about admitting as much and just asking the guy how he did it, but there were cute girls in the room, so it was clearly not the time or place.

"Oh," Troy assured him, leaning back in his chair now that the initial shock and the subsequent embarrassment had subsided enough for him to do so with some modicum of dignity and confidence restored, with a casual glance around to see if anyone might happen to hear this next part, "it's true. My sex is very powerful. And no offense," he laughed as he held out a hand, "but I don't you're my type."
He was probably one of the prettiest dudes Troy had ever seen before, though, so, mad respect.
