Continue Trying Not to Die, Friday, July 24, 2020

"Today we're going to Malawi," Anakin said, "which is a country I've never heard of, so we'll all be learning something new today!"

Wasn't that not at all terrifying, class?

"It's a country in Africa," he said, pointing to it on the map, "but we will probably not be eaten by lions!"

Way to sell this, Anakin.

"Through the portal, everyone!"

Don't ask how Eleanor was the first to get a bicycle taxi to deliver a fish. Let's just say the Taxi driver was cute and Eleanor was highly motivated.

For those keeping score, it was about a 500 point deduction and an accountant who has to deal with "new sex things" in the afterlife had to take migraine medication.

Alara found this challenge to be rather difficult since she had never ridden this type of vehicle and it took her quite a while to finish this task so she could get the clue she needed.

This probably would have gone a lot faster if Juillenne a) had ever ridden a bicycle before and b) was not accompanied by a very hungry mountain cat.

At least she finished the task eventually?

Eleanor was in front. Totally. But then the damn drummers wouldn't get in the boat no matter how many threats or coercive tactics Eleanor attempted to do.

She eventually dragged them into the dugout canoe and threatened their lives which was another point deduction in the afterlife.

Alara decided to tackle Dugout, the actual canoe paddling part wasn’t too bad but she had underestimated how loud the drumming was and it distracted her quite a bit as she made her way to shore for the next clue.

You'd think someone raised in a fishing village would've done well at either task.

Normally, you'd be right.

Again, Jules was going to blame Camden. She didn't fit in the canoe, so that option was right out, and then her presence upset the passengers on the ferryboat, and it had taken all of Jules' patience to coax them out.

"What? Seriously?" Eleanor shouted. "I have no forking clue what the flag looks like."

She tried to do it honestly but eventually just cheated off someone else who did the flag right.

More points.

Seriously, Anakin is one of the main reasons Eleanor is going to the bad place.

(Not really but Eleanor will totally blame him when she finds out where she ended up.)

Alara was still not all that familiar with Earth geography and do it took her a bit longer to construct the Malawi flag.

She was able to make up a bit of lost time from the other challenges but it still took her a bit to finish the task.

... Somehow this was the easiest task of the day?

"Did I win?" she asked, looking around and not seeing any of her classmates.
