[swerval_zero]

Zero opened up the library, as was usual for her on Wednesdays, and briefly disappeared into the stacks looking for something to occupy her time. She returned with The Pearl Blade, the third in the "Jewels of the Caribbean" series by Angelica Demesnes, her new favorite author.

Rory repeated the process she had gone through with Zero moments before, and wrote something down on a piece of paper, sliding it over to Angel.

Anakin and I broke up.

It was by sheer miracle that the tiny gerbil that powered Angel's brain remembered that he shouldn't reply to that comment out loud.

Instead he grabbed a pen.

Angel seemed remarkably calm all of a sudden.

Well if she was Angel would've pointed out that his shoulder could take a little water.

But she wasn't so he didn't.

He did hug tighter though.

Rory would have pointed out that water is often bad for clothes, and she would have felt badly.

Angel would've pointed out that clothes could be replaced if they had to, but Rorys were one of a kind.

Had she mentioned it, which she didn't.

Rory would have still felt bad. Because she's Rory.

But she wasn't crying, so it didn't matter.

And that's why her shouder's weren't shaking at all. Really.

Rory lifted her head and totally would have swiped at her eyes if she had been crying at all. Which she hadn't.

"Thanks," she mumbled.
