Shame Anakin was going to ruin that for everyone, huh?

"Right!" he yelled through the megaphone. "Today we have a new and fun team-building game where you will be in groups of four!"

How thrilling!

"You will get matching socks for greater teambuilding!"

...sure?

"And put your feet up in the air so I may rest a bucket on them!"

Anakin, what.

"The first team to remove all of the socks from their feet without dropping the contents of the bucket on themselves wins!"

Anakin, you totally made this game up, didn't you.

"Listen for your names! And no use of special powers to win."

Sparkle was here mostly because it was a great distraction from the fact that his fish had gone missing.

His fish and all the fish in the tank he shared with Hernando, and he was mildly (seriously) distraught about this.

There had been a sobbing phone call to Leto about it.

Sparkle really, really loved his fish, okay? So this was his activity of choice to help him cope.

".... I'm keeping these socks."

They were amazing.

Oh, you know Wayne was totally one of those guys who bought both socks and underwear in the biggest, bulk-iest, cost-effective bundles, which would explain why he was looking at what would apparently be the latest addition to an otherwise uniform collection with a disparaging sort of sigh.

At least with T-shirts, he could just put them on over whatever he was wearing! He couldn't exactly just pull these on right over his boots!

...or maybe...

Well, now he was considering it.

Socks? SOCKS?!? Shunsui had already been on the fence about coming to another one of these things; they had been nothing but work so far, and far too much work for the benefit, but he thought maybe, just maybe, this week might not be so bad. The island was back to normal, so hopefully far less things to have to jump and run on and hit, and he'd gotten a little taste of one side certain inciting rivalry between the aptly-named Rosa-chan, with her radiant beauty with all those thorns underneath, and her much more enigmatic rival. He'd hoped perhaps today might allow him to get the other half...or make more progress with the first.

But being expected to wear socks might be where he needed to draw a line. He had eschewed and refused to wear socks for as long as he could remember, much to the chagrin of his fellow Shinigami, and if anyone thought he'd start now, well...!

...but then Shunsui actually saw the socks.

"...awwww ♥," he said, beaming at them. "Delicate fucking flowers for our delicate fucking toesies ♥!"

Maybe the socks weren't so bad after all.

"Oh, those t-shirts hardly did anything to compliment my current aesthetic ♥," complained the man wearing literally three layers of robes in the summer, with a chuckle, his beaming smile now shifting to his lovely teammate. "Granted, neither do socks..." He took a moment to look down at his bare feet in his wooden sandals, wiggling his toes a bit, then looked back up with a grin. "But I think today I can make an exception ♥."

....except....probably not.

Because, for a guy named after a damn flower, Gladiolus was very large and there would be nothing delicate about the potential punch that would possibly be coming Prompto's way if he did.

Liam had spent his first few years around certain people who enjoyed things like neon, faux fur, and spandex, often all at once. So the shirts, while ugly, had not been all that surprising?

... Novelty socks were one thing he'd managed to avoid in seven-odd (six, if you accounted for the fact that he'd been incorporeal for one of those) years of existence.

"Huh." He gave the socks a thoughtful look. "I'm keeping these." He decided. Not for himself, but because Augur, art collector and one of the aforementioned lovers of loud and obnoxious fashion, would unironically enjoy them.

Well, the socks were...different, but Amaya couldn't help taking a moment to consider them in her hands, and then consider the activity as she understood it, and then consider the socks again.

"Now," she said, "this is one where having all those questionable shirts would be useful..."

Which was exactly why you didn't get them to save one of your maybe two changes of clothes, Amaya.
