The normal bleachers and food vendors were set up in the park today, along with big screen projector screens, if that gave anyone else a bad feeling. You could watch portals flash in and out in real time! How fun/terrifying!

"Today we're going on a scavenger hunt," Anakin announced because that was a good idea on a week when reality was playing fast and loose. "You will be divided up into four teams of six--" with, of course, newly terrible matching shirts, "and will have to complete ten different tasks!"

That ten didn't divide evenly into six was your problem, teams, not Anakin's.

He waved the copies of the scavenger hunt above his head. "After you hear your names, I will pass out the lists!"

"You know," said Summer, who had never in her life held onto a shirt and looked at it with such complete horror and disgust before, which was saying a lot, "I just need to say that, as someone who's actually had her skin turned inside out before, wearing this is, like, going to be low-key traumatic."

Fjord grimaced.

"This is me volunteering here and now to be the, ah, poor bastard who has to go shirtless for that one thing on the list," he said.

Terrible hardship, he knew.

"Does it have to be just one of us?" Miguel asked. "Because I'll volunteer, too."

"If it does, I beat you to it," Fjord informed him, crossing his arms over his chest.

Seriously.

For the sake of not having to wear that, he'd bare his chest and every damn scar to the world for a while.

"Yeah," Miguel agreed, "but the more the merrier, right?"

...

"Not like that. Just for the sake of not wearing these things."

... Fjord was giving you such a weird little side-eye for that anyway, Miguel.

"More the merrier. Sure."

And with that, he was peeling off his shirt and slinging it over his shoulder.

"If my vote counts for anything," Iris said cheerfully, "I'm all in for all the half-naked guys who want to be half-naked!"

She, uh, did not actually mind her shirt? It was weird, sure, but it was entertaining to look at and it was more accurate than inaccurate, which was rather impressive for such a garbage piece of clothing.

"Yeah, no kidding," Summer, whose day just got much better even with the trauma, agreed. "Go team."

What?

Amaya, meanwhile, was doing an excellent job of giving that list a very thorough look.

"Oh, hey, get a form from the office," she ~~said~~ ~~coughed~~ said. "I can do that."

"I call takin' care of Moobys for the team and bringing a shirt from a previous week!" Iris offered, since both those things were easy to do and it wasn't like the Mooby's order was going to hurt her budget.

"Works for me," Fjord replied, and considered the team thoughtfully. "Ain't a single one of us with access to the dorms, is there? Anyone here able to get to the roof, at least?"

Man, someday he'd have spells for that, easy.

Today was not that day.

"If someone else wants to handle the t-shirt thing, I can run up the side of the building," Iris offered. "Though would they really notice if we took a chocolate cherry from one of the trees in the garden that's not on the roof?"

Because. Uh. Yeah?

"Hell if I know," Fjord snorted. "Maybe they're a different... vintage? Species? Breed?"

He had no fucking clue.
