The normal bleachers and food vendors were set up in the park today, along with big screen projector screens, if that gave anyone else a bad feeling. You could watch portals flash in and out in real time! How fun/terrifying!

"Today we're going on a scavenger hunt," Anakin announced because that was a good idea on a week when reality was playing fast and loose. "You will be divided up into four teams of six--" with, of course, newly terrible matching shirts, "and will have to complete ten different tasks!"

That ten didn't divide evenly into six was your problem, teams, not Anakin's.

He waved the copies of the scavenger hunt above his head. "After you hear your names, I will pass out the lists!"

"Do you want to ask Dean Skywalker for his?" Shuri asked.

"Absolutely not," Sabine said immediately. "But if someone around here doesn't want their terrible shirt..."

"I am not accustomed to wearing a shirt normally," Sidon offered, "if you were searching for volunteers, or would that be too...expected?"

Even if he did wear it so well and did not at all look strange wearing a giant shirt of that particular design.

"At least the squirrels are probably right here." Lana looked around for one. "Do you think they'll need bribing to help us out?"

"Probably," Ben said. "They need bribing for everything."

"If they can benefit from something, why not?" Lana shrugged. "At least they've learned to use it to their advantage."

"Conniving little rodents," Ben said, sounding impressed.

Hey, look, there was a squirrel right here! And one who would be very happy to help out, as it happened, especially since Keyleth was in a slightly desperately intent mood to prove to herself that the tiger incident of the past week had been a fluke (but she was sticking to small animals just in case).

Yes, Lana, that squirrel was waving at you.

"Oh, hello!" Lana waved back. "All right, let me set up my phone to take video." She did that, then set it down to show them both.

"So...how do you like reporting, then?"

What did you even ask a squirrel?

She liked it, actually! It was kind of neat, and it made her feel helpful, and it was kind of fascinating to spend so much time working with the squirrels. It gave her some insight into the way they thought. Well. Sort of.

All of which came across as some very excited chittering, and a bit of front paw flailing to go with it.

Whether Fjord was technically doing that one or not, Miguel was still stripping off his shirt. At least his own muscles weren't creepy.

"Should we try the ice cream first? It's right there. We can plan where to go next while we wait, then split up."

"That's a smart plan," Amaya said, with a nod of approval. "Knock out the ones that require all or a good handful of us to do together first, and then divide," she gestured her hands apart, "and conquer." Her fist then pounded into her palm with a nod. "I think between the lot of us, we can make pretty short work out of any ice cream."

Amaya had not seen the Skywalker sundae before, no, why do you ask?

Iris? Iris had.

"If you guys want to do it that way, it's our funeral," she said, not at all optimistic about their odds, but whatever, she was down for ice cream.

And now they couldn't say she hadn't warned them!

"I don't think we have to eat the whole thing," Kitty said, because she, too, had seen the Skywalker sundae, and holy god. "Which is good, because we'd spend the rest of the event sick."

"I'm sure we can," Miguel agreed. Hey, he had a ridiculous metabolism all on his own. "Should we go see what this 'Skywalker sundae' entails?"

Sparkle considered the list.

Considered the people in their team.

Considered the list again.

"Does the meepy kid still have access to the dorms? If not, I vote we find some way to launch him up there for those chocolate cherries."

"If not, could we fly a ship over and lower someone down?" Hera asked. "It seems nicer and more reliable than throwing him up there."

Yeah, but that wasn't as funny.

"... Or that," Sparkle allowed. "Didn't know flying was an option."

Seemed like a lot of work for a chocolate cherry.

"It doesn't say it isn't," Hera pointed out.

And even Beaker deserved a break. Or a chance to dangle from a spaceship, spinning frantically while he tried to get fruit of a tree.
