If you thought a small thing like "the entire park being covered in water" was going to stop Anakin, well, you hadn't spent much time with him.

There were rafts scattered throughout the area, some decidedly more sturdy-looking than others. A giant one was holding up the normal risers but looked pretty tippy, so Anakin had lashed a few others to it with blankets if people decided against swaying quite that much today.

There were other floats scattered around in a pattern with giant galvanized buckets and folded baby blankets on them, too. Do you have a bad feeling about them? Because you should.

"Today," Anakin yelled through the bullhorn, "we are playing Blanket Balloon Toss! We will have four teams of seven." With matching horrifying t-shirts again. Anakin had gotten such a deal, you guys. "Working in pairs--except for the first person--you will catch water balloons in your baby blankets and then launch it to your teammates on the next float. The first team to get the balloon around the circuit wins."

You were all getting drenched.

"If you are not strong swimmers, I suggest you put on a pair of water wings. The floats were built by Beaker and might not be the robust things ever."

Meaning that one would definitely start sinking.

"Listen for your names, come get your t-shirts, and then get out to your designated floats!"

A lot of fish-themed snacks.

Yeah, Iris was not trusting those seats at all. She could make it work, but standing on the water in her bathing suit took far less effort. Her long, long hair was tightly braided.

This week was weird, but since her shop wasn't flooded, it really wasn't that bad. She'd have preferred it if the water was warmer, but whatever.

The set-up, though, was getting a speculative look.

Wearing her bathing suit had been definitely the right idea.

Octavia had no idea what any of this was.

But sometimes, she got curious, so... Looked like she was sticking around.

Sabine had signed up for this before the island flooded, and she was really regretting that now.

She'd do It. But she wouldn't like It.

"Listen for your names!" Anakin yelled unnecessarily through the bullhorn.

It was... not his color. At all.

"I'll look like fire!" a floating swarm of colorful fishes exclaimed happily. "Oh." Right, need to be girl-shaped. The fish coalesced and with a pop, resumed fully clothed human form. The t-shirt was big enough she could swim - heh - in it, so she put it over everything including her leather jacket.

"I could look more like fire.." Del speculated.

From his own little raft, Barnabas barked, "NO, Delirium! Fire and water don't play well together and this is a team game!"

Del sighed, plucking at the hem of her shirt.

Octavia had no opinion about the color. In her view, all it was was a t-shirt she didn't have to pay for, so she was already winning.

"I don't know what everyone's so annoyed about," she noted as she pulled her mustard shirt on. "Looks fine to me."

"Aw, for fuck's sake, really?" Beau complained, glaring at the shirt like she wanted to burn it. It was like the puked-up version of her least favorite color, and it did not go with her color scheme.

Like, honestly, today there was absolutely no way Nina would have been upset with the colour of her t-shirt.

Why?

Because there was so much to just be happy about.

Sure, water was everywhere and she'd been forced to give up her skirts for a pair of knee-length shorts and a t-shirt, which left her feeling both under-dressed and, looking at some of the others, rather over-dressed, but she was… she was just happy. Practically radiating it, really.

But even if she hadn't already been (metaphorically) walking on water (that was, sadly, not a real skill she had), today would have been great:

"Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she squealed. "I love mauve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And it loved her back! Nina looked fantastic in mauve.

Hey, fall-themed colors suited Keyleth really well!

So of course she got the one color out of the four today that didn't quite fit into that category, right? Right.

She sighed a little bit, but put the shirt on anyway (and gave some serious side-eye to Beau and her yelling), because she was absolutely going to try and make the most of it. Look, she still thought it was pretty.

Eh. It wasn't too much off his usual preferred color scheme, right? Billy wasn't that picky, so he just put his shirt on without too much comment.

Look, he sometimes went around in a red one-piece suit with a gold-trimmed white cape and a glowing lightning bolt on his chest. He wasn't allergic to really loud ensembles or anything.

Kitty put on the mustard shirt, and actually decided this could be worse.

Because she was, and always would be, a little weird with fashion.

Sabine figured that her armor, light as it was, was probably not a great idea on a raft, so the magenta- great color- was going on over what she had on underneath.

"I will have to kill anyone who even attempts to flip me," she warned.

It sounded like she could maybe be joking. She was not. There would be murder.

Prompto looked every bit what you'd expect someone who just spent an entire Tuesday doing nothing but parking himself in front of video games in a vain effort to keep his brain from thinking about....things...all the things...squinting a little as if he'd sort of forgotten what the sun even was.

Better get used to what that's like, there, buddy. Apparently...

But he did come prepared for whatever might be going on today, grinning faintly as he was handed his shirt, whipped the pair of scissors he brought with him out of his pocket, and dutifully took to the task of cutting off the sleeves before putting them on.

If that beard had taught anyone anything, it was that there was no wiggle room when it came to this man and his stubbornness toward style.

"I could do mauve," Rosa decided, as if she had a choice in the matter, eyeing the shirt after she'd put it on. "Could be better for hiding bloodstains, though..."

...for playing Blanket Balloon Toss. Sure, Rosa. Sure.

Guess who was still not wearing crabs, Anakin.

Wayne, his orange-red shirt pulled on over his blue flannel, was just going to take a moment to squeeze in a smoke before this really kicked off. He had a feeling he was going to need it.

"Oooh, yeah," said Summer, once she got her shirt, "now here's a color redheads just dream about wearing, like, all the time."

She didn't really care or anything, she'd only be wearing for an hour or two at most, but it did sort of need to be pointed out that she'd somehow managed to wind up on a team whose colors almost perfectly matched her hair...so there was that.

The first balloon launchers (Beau, Fjord, Miguel, and Sidon) must get onto the same 8 foot square float, get water balloons and launch them using the provided water balloon launchers.

Their teammates (Kitty & Octavia, Beaker & Kanan, Summer & Billy, and Tip & Iris) on the next float--at least fifty feet away--must catch it (unbroken) in their blanket. They can't catch someone else's balloon.

There is nothing saying they can't jump up and down to make another team miss their shot. Or push them. Or yell really loud. Or all of the above.

[OOC: I encourage this to get messy! Yell to your teammates. Smack talk to the other people on your raft. The RNG says that the order of this round is:
MUSTARD
ORANGE-RED
MAGENTA
MAUVE, so get there however.]
