If you thought a small thing like "the entire park being covered in water" was going to stop Anakin, well, you hadn't spent much time with him.

There were rafts scattered throughout the area, some decidedly more sturdy-looking than others. A giant one was holding up the normal risers but looked pretty tippy, so Anakin had lashed a few others to it with blankets if people decided against swaying quite that much today.

There were other floats scattered around in a pattern with giant galvanized buckets and folded baby blankets on them, too. Do you have a bad feeling about them? Because you should.

"Today," Anakin yelled through the bullhorn, "we are playing Blanket Balloon Toss! We will have four teams of seven." With matching horrifying t-shirts again. Anakin had gotten such a deal, you guys. "Working in pairs--except for the first person--you will catch water balloons in your baby blankets and then launch it to your teammates on the next float. The first team to get the balloon around the circuit wins."

You were all getting drenched.

"If you are not strong swimmers, I suggest you put on a pair of water wings. The floats were built by Beaker and might not be the robust things ever."

Meaning that one would definitely start sinking.

"Listen for your names, come get your t-shirts, and then get out to your designated floats!"

Yeaaaah....Amaya would have so many twitches about that if it weren't something that could easily just be brushed off with blah blah blah magic whatever. And even then...!

"Not much that can be done, really," Amaya sighed again, throwing up her hands before her arms folded in front of her, "except wait it out, I guess, and I hate waiting. Well, I suppose we could go get ourselves a couple of buckets and start scooping. It's not like I won't have the time for it...Normally, I could probably make quick work out of even that, too, by putting Missus Crumbler to work, but I guess she's seeing how she likes the sea, now. I knew I should have made those amphibious upgrades to her while I had the chance!"

"Somethin' to add for the list for whenever this passes over, huh?" Fjord smiled wryly. "Hell, if the whole downstairs is submerged, there ain't even tidying to be done. What have you been doing with yourself in the meantime?"

Going out of her mind, he suspected.

Pretty much.

"Mostly just doing what I can to make sure rust doesn't start settling on any of the current batch, really," Amaya said. "That's one heck of a feeling, knowing your whole inventory just dropped in value overnight like that. Other than that, though, it's mostly been fighting down the urge to break into my greenhouse project, knowing that there's a ton more work ahead that'll likely need to be done right when I'm in the middle of it, and catching up on my reading, I guess. Plus, I'll admit, I'm making better progress on figuring out the best cat hair remover than I'd have oherwise, so there is that..."

Well. That earned a blink and a squint.

"Cat hair?"

... Just talking about cats made his nose itch.

Amaya's nose wrinkled a little, too, though for entirely different reasons.

"Yeah, Seivarden's a cat right now," she shrugged her shoulders, "and for some reason that well beyond my reckoning refuses to go anywhere except my apartment. And now, really, she hasn't got much of a choice in the matter even if she wanted to. S'been a while now, too, I'm almost starting to get a little worried she might be stuck."

Getting stuck as an animal was actually far more common where she was from than all this turning back after a little while, really.

"Either way, I'm sure she doesn't mean to, but she sheds, and since I can't exactly work on much of anything else at the moment, I figured I might as well see if I can't put something together to help solve that issue."

Fjord snorted, and then offered his very helpful advice:

"Just shave her."

See? No more shedding.

Amaya's mouth fell open with what seemed like it was going to be an instant protest, but it didn't seem to get much further than a first gasp of air before her brain actually latched onto that idea, her head tilted and her eyes slide away slightly as she considered it, mouth closing. Considered it a moment more, opened her mouth with what seemed like another protest, but then it seemed to go right back to considering, her eyebrows furrowing to join the very complex calculations apparant on her face.

Whatever the equation in her head may have been, it was clearly one without an easy solution.

"Oh, well," she said, a bit quietly, almost as if she was mostly saying it to convince herself, "I don't know about that...

"Other hand," and this was said a bit more conversationally, as if to bring Fjord into the process, "s'not like she has a lot of hair as a person. I can't imagine she'd really miss it. Only that's got to be an awkward conversation to have with someone once they come back. Then there's obviously the whole idea of whether or not she'd even let me. At this point, it just seems easier to try to just build something up from scratch to do it instead."

"I suppose the alternative would be puttin' her in a little cat shirt or somethin'," Fjord added.

Still helpfully.

"Maybe little cat pants, too. Really contain all that hair."

He was calling 'not it' on stuffing her into any of that, of course. For allergy reasons.

Of course.

Well, yes, of course, naturally, which placed him in a rather safe and scratch-free position to be postulating on these probably pants, now, didn't it?

But that didn't seem to stop Amaya from snorting back a laugh of her own as she held up dainty fingers that seemed to be holding invisible versions of what she went on to suggest. "Little...cat gloves."

Which she did have the suggestion of in the white spots on her paws, which was actually a little cute, but Amaya wouldn't actually say that or anything.

So help Fjord, he couldn't even stop himself from laughing, either, ducking his head and raising a fist to cover his mouth as he did so.

Little. Cat. Gloves.

"Shit," he chuckled. "She'd pretty much have to thank you for those, right?
