If you thought a small thing like "the entire park being covered in water" was going to stop Anakin, well, you hadn't spent much time with him.

There were rafts scattered throughout the area, some decidedly more sturdy-looking than others. A giant one was holding up the normal risers but looked pretty tippy, so Anakin had lashed a few others to it with blankets if people decided against swaying quite that much today.

There were other floats scattered around in a pattern with giant galvanized buckets and folded baby blankets on them, too. Do you have a bad feeling about them? Because you should.

"Today," Anakin yelled through the bullhorn, "we are playing Blanket Balloon Toss! We will have four teams of seven." With matching horrifying t-shirts again. Anakin had gotten such a deal, you guys. "Working in pairs--except for the first person--you will catch water balloons in your baby blankets and then launch it to your teammates on the next float. The first team to get the balloon around the circuit wins."

You were all getting drenched.

"If you are not strong swimmers, I suggest you put on a pair of water wings. The floats were built by Beaker and might not be the robust things ever."

Meaning that one would definitely start sinking.

"Listen for your names, come get your t-shirts, and then get out to your designated floats!"

The first balloon launchers (Beau, Fjord, Miguel, and Sidon) must get onto the same 8 foot square float, get water balloons and launch them using the provided water balloon launchers.

Their teammates (Kitty & Octavia, Beaker & Kanan, Summer & Billy, and Tip & Iris) on the next float--at least fifty feet away--must catch it (unbroken) in their blanket. They can't catch someone else's balloon.

There is nothing saying they can't jump up and down to make another team miss their shot. Or push them. Or yell really loud. Or all of the above.

[OOC: I encourage this to get messy! Yell to your teammates. Smack talk to the other people on your raft. The RNG says that the order of this round is:
MUSTARD
ORANGE-RED
MAGENTA
MAUVE, so get there however.]

... Sorry, Mauve. Water balloons plus Fjord's nails? It didn't matter who was on the receiving end, he needed to battle just to get the damn things into the launcher without accidentally popping them, first.

"Shit," he muttered, come the sixth attempt.

"What he said," Kanan added, jerking a thumb toward Beaker. "Try palming the thing or something?"

He was helping.

And getting such a sour look from the half-orc on the first float.

See Fjord. See Fjord grumble, peel off his shirt (thank the gods), and wrap it around his hand, using it as a makeshift glove to get the next balloon safely from the stash of them into the launcher.

Oh, crap, now Beaker had to catch something.

Running around on a tiny float and flailing would help, right?

... It might also make Kanan have to work to both catch the thing and stay on the float, though.

Kanan was reasonably certain that the actual definition of hell was this moment. This one. Right here. He'd been dead over the weekend, probably, and purgatory was being stuck on a raft with a flailing Beaker while being pelted with falling glitter balloons.

He sighed, gave up on catching the incoming balloon from the first float, and held up a hand to deflect at least some of the falling glitter balloons using the Force, instead.

... Over on the other float, Beau had knocked Fjord into the water.

"Well," Kanan muttered, "we tried."

Which was why Anakin had attached him to the float with a rope.

"OKAY, PEOPLE, LINE IT UP, LET'S GO!"

Yes. Yes, that was Beau cupping her hands around her mouth and bellowing across to the next float before taking aim with the balloon launcher. She missed the first attempt, which she'd claim was just because she was getting used to the thing. And then, apparently, rolled a natural 20 on the second attempt, which basically meant the little 360-degree spin move she did before launching the balloon looked really cool.

Also she might have used her follow-through on the spin to try and push Fjord off the raft, just because.

And just when Fjord had been starting to have good luck with his hand wrapped in that stupid mauve shirt, too. That was a damn good follow-through, and with a yelp of surprise - he hadn't even seen that follow-through coming - Fjord went flying into the water.

Sorry, everyone else on the the launcher raft! Sidon was just about as tall as the raft itself was wide, and had...very poor spacial management, especially when he was so absolutely thrilled to get to be the the first launcher!

And sorry, everyone on the next float! Because Sidon had a slingshot and, again, was so absolutely <>thrilled to get to be the first launcher, and he was incredibly strong and those balloons weren't going anywhere near the next raft but way, way, way way beyond.

He was, however, an archer, and an excellent one at that, so, laughing his apologies, he would be able to manage his enthusiasm eventually and everything once he did would be rather well aimed and smoothly done, too, if he might say so himself.

Miguel eyed the launcher skeptically. Hm. Still, there was nothing to say he couldn’t add just a touch of webbing to the balloon to make it less breakable, right?
