Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Despite the not-so-great weather earlier in the week, the weather today looked nice and... well, decent for the end of December, and while the rest of town might still have signs of last week's snow, there were no traces left outside the school. (It just meant one less uncomfortable question for the big siblings to deal with, you're welcome.)
The buffet table was ready, set as far as possible from the glittered-out blue and gold tables and chairs. The winter bonfire was crackling for warmth and food-toasting opportunities. The lists of siblings and roommates had been double-checked. It looked like everything was ready for a picnic!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Yup. Waiting.
Waiting.
"This is dumb."
Waiting.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
And very confused. "Why would they try to give me a new family?" he asked aloud. Also, the shark guy over there was terrifying.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
She turned around to face the source of the voice, tilted her head, and squinted a little.
"Jack?"
He had better be Jack, because if he wasn't Jack, Vette was going to re-name him and treat him like a Jack for the rest of his time here.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Excuse Jack while he stared a moment. And tried to figure out if he was hallucinating on top of the rest of the last day. "Jack," he repeated weakly. "Yes. That's. me."
Blue. What.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Well. Maybe if you asked Sidon really nicely, but then Vette would have to have words about it.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Just how much trouble was he in, here? "I don't believe I caught your name, miss... Or mister?" He had no idea, but his first guess was what made sense to him.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Which she figured was still sort of a laugh, because this world was still confusing as hell, even to her.
"You okay there?"
She was also sharper than a nexu's quills. She'd seen that sway, Jack.
"Let's get you to a seat, we can talk there."

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
"I guess that last part depends on where home is," she offered, "and maybe on how you got here."
She could probably forgive him for making her wait. It looked more than a little bit as though he'd been through hell.
"So, Jack," she continued, tilting her head and putting on her best game smile. "Tell me about home. How do people usually get messages around, there?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Langwidere-- no. Tip-- he didn't even know where she was, now. Jane. Yes, he could let Jane know he hadn't meant to disappear. Find out if she'd found her daughter.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Stupid island.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
And then his stomach growled, and he darted a look over at the buffet. "Can I-- I had breakfast, but it's been a while, if it's allowed to get something to eat here...?" Tony and Eliot had said as much, and his name was on all these lists, but he didn't want to be presumptuous.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
But this guy kind of looked like he'd been run over by a rancor, so Vette felt as though she really needed to ask anyway.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Usually he was even more pigheaded.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
"If you need to... I don't know, lean or something, I'm more sturdy than I look," she noted. "I know some field first-aid, but it looks like... maybe someone already took care of anything that can be fixed without kolto?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
"I don't know either of them," she noted, "but good, you need those."
Cyborgs were pretty common in her neck of the woods.
"Kolto's a healing agent," she added. "But it's impossible to get around here, it's something I'd have to go home for. Which isn't happening," booo, "but that just means you get to heal at the normal healing speed instead."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
They'd reached the buffet table now, and it was a bit overwhelming. Some of it at least looked familiar: meats and cheeses, and some breads. Apples. The rest of it, though?
"What's good?" Might as well ask the Big Sibling the important things.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
"My tastes are suspect," she added, because this poor little human cyborg boy probably didn't want to sink his teeth into some spiced mynock, she was sure, "I'll eat basically anything. What kind of things do you like? Sweet? Savory? Salty? Spicy?"

By human standards, anyway. Vette really would eat basically anything.
