Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"I hate to disappoint," Fjord replied, a little wryly. "But I'll admit now you have me wondering what's so strange about clerics. They're pretty important."

"All he does is cast Zone of Truth!" Magnus exploded, tossing his hands up in the air. Like he just don't care. "Or, okay the giant, angelic Dela Reese is pretty great when fighting things, but the Insect Plague spell is the worst when I'm in the middle of punching or stabbing things!"

It would be a while before Fjord ever encountered the insect plague spell, but he'd be sure to be properly horrified once he had.

"Right?" Magnus asked. "I mean, sometimes it works for the best. Like this one time we were at Chaos Stadium in Neverwinter? You know, Fantasy Wrestlemania?"

His world had its own fair share of Fantasy Callouts, that part wasn't weird.

Then he didn't know about... I'Morko. This was narrative, so there wasn't a guitar sting, but the narrative wanted you to think about it being there anyway.

"So, we were there to help keep Jess the Beheader alive and ended up fighting some banished Eldritch god whose name I think was Gary or something? And to fight him we had to be nice and compliment each other. So, the Zone of Truth helped there. Also got us an invite to Fantasy Aspen."

See, Fjord was curious, here. No reason. Especially none that would have anything even a little bit to do with a pact he might possibly have made with a lurking eldritch horror from the briny deeps.

Look, he was terrible with children, but protective of them all the same.

Fjord had gotten a sword. Also neat. Way less sugar mama involved.
