Summer Games: Wednesday, The Park [morning]

"Good morning!" Anakin yelled into the megaphone from the small platform he had erected in the park. "Students, please listen for your names and find your partner or partners as your name is called: Sidon and Aloy; Jason and Rey; Bobby and Paris; Ahsoka and Uma; Theron and Peridot; Astrid and Norman; Tip, Sabine and Beaker."

Once the students were in place, Anakin held up a sheaf of paper in his hand. "Today, with the help of the proprietors in town, we're conducting a Scavenger Hunt. You have a very long list: You must find 15 of the items from that list and either take a picture or video of yourselves completing the tasks. Whoever completes their 15 in the shortest amount of time will win the coveted, terrifying, singing fish," he said, holding his hand out for it to fly to him. It was still shrieking Sabotage as it flew, but now it also rained confetti on anyone close enough to be in its flight path. As Anakin held it, it treated the entire group to holographic footage of Theron being chased by a Roomba.

You're welcome, Theron.

"Right," Anakin said slowly. "Someone come take this thing from me as quickly as possible. On your marks, get set, go."

And just wait until Astrid found out who ran the Magic Box, too!

"I like puppies," she said with a nod, because who in their right mind didn't? "And I'm really curious about that polar bear one, too. I think I'd like to do the flower shop one, if that's okay?"

"The flower shop one works for me," Norman decided, nodding. "I haven't been in there yet, and making flower arrangements kind of sounds like fun."

Maybe he'd leave his at the graveyard?

"... I don't want to do anything that might involve interacting with a gremlin, though."

"Agreed," Astrid said, almost emphatically. "And I like ladybugs, but that post office one sounds terrifying."

900??

"Which one are we closest to? Maybe we could start at a close one and go on from there?"

"Ummm..." Norman looked at the list again. "There's the one at the bookstore, with the paper mache, and the Demon Marcus is right next door? Turtle and Canary is about the same distance the other way, and Dite's," he blushed a lot at that one, "and the flower shop aren't far from that."

Astrid nodded, taking note of the blush because it was sort of hard not to, and considered it, laying some of the option out in her head to match with some of her wanderings.

"Maybe hit up the places on the northeast side of the park first, then everything on the rest of the island from there? So...flower shop first?"

Easily the one that she could place on that side that was a Definite Yes for her.

"The flower shop first," Norman agreed. "That way even if we don't finish all of this, at least we've made certain to do the one you want to do."

The one you want to do. Now there was a concept that didn't exactly enter into Astrid's worldview ever. She couldn't help smiling a little; it was her turn to blush a little, flush with the pleasure of it, as well as the embarrassment over the fact that it had made her so happy in the first place.

"Cool," she said, "let's go."
