Library, 3/21

Angela gets to the library early (for her) and (mostly) refreshed.

Of course, the enormous coffee she's carrying might help explain why she seems refreshed.

She's brought in some donuts from Jeff, God of Biscuits to share with the other aides, and maybe any friends who might stop by. She hopes she'll get to talk to the new librarian some more as well.

The library is open for all your bookish needs.

Johnny saunters into the library. Yes, saunters. And yes, he might've picked up a huge belt buckle (http://www.truecowboy.com/images/beltbuckle2.jpg) since this morning.

"Howdy ma'am." And Johnny tips his hat.

"Howdy," Angela said. "Cam warned me you guys had decided to stage your own private Halloween in March. Nice cowboy hat."

"Ain't it though?" Johnny grins. "Finest material a hat can be made of. My pride an' joy, it is. This ain't no Halloween costume, missy. Just me bein' me."

Angela stared at John for a moment. A long moment. She tried to decide whether this was a joke or whether Professor Skeeter had run out of animals and decided to turn Crichton into one of the Village People.

"...Okay?" she said, finally.

"How are you on this fine morning?" Johnny asks, tucking his thumbs into his belt buckle. "You look like fresh squeezed orange juice on a sleepy morning in Montana."

"That's good, right? Thank you," Angela said, deciding this had to be a joke. "I'm actually having a really, really entertaining day. Almost doesn't feel like work. What about you?"

"That's the best that anyone can be, ma'am." Johnny smiles again. "I'm doing dandy. Enjoying the smell of the world and all the fine, fine views at the school. Mmm mmm mmm."

Zero dove for her backpack. "I heard on the radio about this," she said as she sat up holding her video camera. "John, John, say something for posterity."

"It's Johnny," he says brightly, waving at the camera. "I swear, I think my rear looks looks two deflated soccer balls today. Advice for me?"

"Yeh, I'm a girl. I have girly parts. How do you feel about, um, steers?" It's kind of hard to keep the video camera straight when you're shaking with restrained laughter.

Angela is snorting back laughter at this point.

She's now certain he's one of the Village People. "Hey, John? Can you do the YMCA?"

And Johnny does the entire YMCA song complete with hip thrusting, kicking and, of course, spelling out the chorus.

"Cowboys ride horses and herd sheep and stuff like that," Johnny tells her. "It's a beautiful life. Peaceful and stuff. Even better with a partner."
