Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The forecasts had been calling for rain all week, so when it was time to get everything set up for the picnic and it was sunny and warm outside instead, well, that was hopefully a good sign of things to come.

There were tables set up all around the lawn of the school with blue and gold tableclothes and chairs, and the usual buffet of food (and ice cream!) was waiting for hungry folks to dig in. There was also a second table with nametags and lists to help the new people locate their siblings and roommates.

Once the food was ready and the tables were glittered, everything was set for a very pleasant picnic indeed.

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Hera was enjoying the weather. She was a little less certain about this whole teaching thing, even if it didn't seem all that complicated.

But she was here, and she found her nametag and put it on.

Electroclash hadn't even been aware she'd been assigned teaching buddy duties. Guess it was lucky she hadn't ditched the whole bloody thing for London, then.

She got a text about it, groaned, then went to look for someone with 'Hera' on their name tag.

"Think I'm s'posed to be your 'buddy' for this teaching thing," she rasped without proper preamble, once she'd found her.

"Oh, hi!" Hera smiled just a touch unsurely at that welcome. "What does that mean exactly, anyway?"

'Unsure' and possibly also 'wary' were emotions Electroclash was very used to causing.

"If you're new, usually it means freaking you out with stories about how fucking weird this place is," she said, shrugging. "Are you new?"

"Not that new," Hera said. "I've been here a few months now. I came here with Kanan Jarrus," just on the off-chance she knew him, "and now I mostly run the junkyard. We decided to get a class together to see the local system."

"With space boy number two?" Sarah asked, raising one eyebrow. As if Kanan hadn't earned a distinction beyond 'Space Boy #2" by this point. She just preferred to keep that kind of thing to herself. "Well, then you'll probably be fine. I mean, getting used to the fucking island is harder for most people than teaching the brats."
