Parker is hungover, unhappy, and really not glad to be back from break.

The Library is open.

Do not taunt the Library aide. This morning, she bites.

After Rory was done bouncing at Anders, Angela waved to her. "So I have librarian news," she said. "As in, we're going to have one again."

Parker blinked. "Seriously? Any news on who?" She pushed a hand through her hair and tried to focus. "Or when, exactly?"

"Veronica Mars met him in town Wedneday," Angela said. "She said his name was Kurt Wagner, she thought, and he's very nice."

She paused. "Oh, and she said he was blue, and I don't think she meant, like, in the emo way. BUT he talks, so ... step up, right?"

"Talking would be good, yeah." Parker leaned her chin on her hands. "I've liked all the blue people I know, not that that means anything. Hank. Zhaan, in town. So, maybe that's a good omen? Hopefully?"

"Hank was sweet," Angela agreed. "I've never met Zhaan."

She scraped her fingernail against the desk. "Veronica didn't know when he would come in, though. He's probably still getting settled."

"Hmph. Hopefully he won't ask us to reorganize the library again. Or, at least, I think that's what the last one was communicating." Parker looked a little more subdued. "Last night, when I was drunk...."

"I will kill if I have to reorganize the library," Angela said.

Her expression shifted to match Parker's, but she hesitated to bring up the Jarod thing. "It wasn't a big deal, getting the cab."

"Maybe not. But I appreciate it. I was in no shape to do it myself." She paused, and added, more hesitantly, "And, uh." She covered her face. "For listening to me panic about Jarod."

Angela stared at her shoes. "That was also nothing."

"Have you talked to him yet?"

"It was something. Not nothing." Parker's voice was very quiet. She shook her head. "I'm trying to think how to phrase my apology so he won't think I'm nuts. 'Sorry I ran away, Jarod, the kiss was great. No, I'm not sorry the kiss was great.' And then I see the conversation deteriorating from there."

Angela leaned her chin on her hand and closed her eyes in thought. "Okay, how do you see it deteriorating?" she asked. "Because "the kiss was great, sorry I freaked," seems like a place to start, anyhow."

"Because the next question is 'why did you kiss me?' and I don't have a good answer yet." Parker grimaced. "Aside from the truth, which just isn't happening."

Angela sighed. "Okay."

"I don't get why it would be so awful for you to tell him you like him and just wanted to kiss him. I mean, he clearly likes you, right?"

Rory listened to Angela and Parker, thoughtful. "He's blue? Did Veronica say why?"

Angela shook her head. "I think he just has blue skin. I don't know if she knew. Didn't ask. I was stuck on making sure he could talk."

"Huh. Yay for being able to talk, at least," Rory sighed. "Not that I didn't like the ape, of course."

"The Librarian was nice, but I think he was as frustrated by the communication issue as we were," Angela shrugged. "Not that we really got to know him either way."

"I just hope this one lasts at least until the summer."

"At least that, yeah. I wonder if the position is cursinated?"

"I don't think so?" Angela said thoughtfully. "We only lost the one. Dr. Pierson's still at the school. Maybe we should go ask him if he feels cursed."

"Hmm," Rory said. "But yeah, if the new guy - Mr. Wagner, right? Like the composer? - sticks around, I hope he's nice."

"Like the composer," Angela confirmed. "I guess we'll get to know soon enough."

She rubbed her forehead. "So were you and Angel trying to break Parker at the party last night? I think I overheard something about mom."

"Yeah," Rory grinned. "It's a longish story. When we thought, um, that we were going to, y'know, lose Angel, I told him I kind of think of him like a brother. And then when he was convalescing, we realized we don't have a common mother. So we nominated Parker."

Angela grinned at the idea of Parker as a mom.

"It's so weird that Angel is your quasi-brother now. Considering."

Rory nodded, her expression going serious. "It's weird, since I never thought I'd be able to disassociate him, you know?"
