Parker is hungover, unhappy, and really not glad to be back from break.

"Cognitive dissonance," Angela shuddered. She brought a hand to her throat. "I quit wearing Phale's necklace. I don't know why, but I feel safe enough to take it off. Which I never thought I would, back in October."

"But I'm sorry you're still havingthose nightmares. Do you think you should go see the counselor, or anything?"

"Maybe," Rory said thoughtfully. "It's not often. And more about Darla and Drusilla these days."

She gave a wry smile and pulled her pink cross out of her shirt collar. "I don't take mine off anymore. And no, it's not blessed, but still. And it's not because of Angel, since I think he'd encourage this, anyway."

"Probably," Angela agreed. Then, lowering her voice, "Is that the one someone gave you? Because that's another reason to wear it."

"Yes. And I assume by 'someone' we don't mean Logan, since he gave me one, too," Rory said, raising an eyebrow and smiling. "But yeah, someone gave me this one for Christmas and...yeah."

She sighed. "I don't know. I'm trying not to emo all over everything? But I miss him. A lot."

"I think Marty and I were all Color Me Emo about two nights apart when I went home," Angela said. "If I didn't know when he would be back, I probably wouldn't leave my room."

"So it's okay to be kind of emo, I guess."

"Yeah," Rory nodded. "I mean, I think this is kind of a valid reason. But I'm trying not to think about it too much. He's coming back, anyway."

"No," Rory said, her smile fading. "But he said he is. In the letter he left."

"Then he is. It's got to be part of the whole Jedi thing, not lying."

"He certainly doesn't lie well," Rory replied. "But I don't think he'd say he's coming back if he wasn't almost completely positive he could follow through."
