The students had been handwavily notified to dress for swimming and the meet up at Portalocity again.

"Well folks," Eliot said. "This is our last class of the session. So Parker'n I decided it was time for some slightly less structured fun." He led the way through the portal to the front gates of a large water park. "Welcome to Water Country USA!"

“We’ll be doing a class like this one again, next term,” Parker added. “I mean, the whole Outdoor Adventure class, not just waterslides. Although that would be pretty cool, you have to admit.”

"We'll even try not to repeat ourselves," Eliot said. "Alright, a couple ground rules: use sunscreen. The water's going to reflect all the UV rays right onto you and I don't want anyone to end up with sun poisoning. I'll be hanging out by the wave pool if anyone gets into trouble and needs an adult. Other than that, have fun, and we'll meet back up here when it's time to head back to Fandom."

“I’ll be on the Colossal Curl first, if anyone wants to be on my raft,” Parker said. “Let’s go!”

Haha! Ringo was looking pretty pleased with herself because she'd already gotten a chance to wear her new bathing suit. Awesome!

Of course she also had it accessorized with a light shirt and a hat because her skin was light enough that sunscreen by itself just wasn't going to cut it.

Kathy was standing next to the teachers, with several bottles of sunscreen to hand out, all of various SPF levels.

"If you didn't bring any, get some here!" she called. "And don't forget to get someone to do your back! It's important!"

"What's the highest SPF level you have?" Vider asked. "I need that one."

"SPF 80," Kathy said, grabbing a bottle by her feet and handing it over. "And some lipbalm with SPF 30 on it. Those should help, but be liberal about reapplying both."

Of course, she'd probably be white as chalk by the end of the class.

Cosette didn't even bother with the smaller ones; the phrase 'go big or go home' wasn't one she was inclined to use, but she was definitely on board with the sentiment.

This. was. awesome. Alana shrieked with horror and glee as she sped down the slides. The dark ones were the most terrifying and the most amazing.

Well, Eliot was currently being a responsible adult by the wave pool, so his "too much fun" involved reading Aldo Leopold. But still.

Why no, she wasn't planning on a few extra hours of puppy snuggles, why would you even ask that?

Hmm, was Kathy going to stay on the sidelines? Or fling herself down the fastest, highest, most intense waterslide she could find?

Funny how the answer to that question was the complete opposite of what it would have been a few years ago.

Also, Eliot's reading material today is inspired by what I literally spent all day reading at Disney World the one time I went as a person with a functioning memory (the other time I was 1). Being the responsible adult at a theme park is . . . interesting.
