The students had been ~~handwavily~~ notified to dress for swimming and the meet up at Portalocity again.

"Well folks," Eliot said. "This is our last class of the session. So Parker'n I decided it was time for some slightly less structured fun." He led the way through the portal to the front gates of a large water park. "Welcome to Water Country USA!"

“We’ll be doing a class like this one again, next term,” Parker added. “I mean, the whole Outdoor Adventure class, not just waterslides. Although that would be pretty cool, you have to admit.”

"We'll even try not to repeat ourselves," Eliot said. "Alright, a couple ground rules: use sunscreen. The water's going to reflect all the UV rays right onto you and I don't want anyone to end up with sun poisoning. I'll be hanging out by the wave pool if anyone gets into trouble and needs an adult. Other than that, have fun, and we'll meet back up here when it's time to head back to Fandom."

“I’ll be on the Colossal Curl first, if anyone wants to be on my raft,” Parker said. “Let’s go!”

"Yes," Eliot said. "We had a lot of fun while we were doin' it, too. But that's not dating."

Dating was what happened when you did those things more than a couple times. Probably.

"And hell no. For all I know, she'd spend the night and wake up a man the next day."

"That might work out well for some people," Parker pointed out. "I'm not sure Kaye Lynn's one of them... So you're not going to date her?" Hmm. "...would you still date me if I was a guy?"

Eliot set his book (which had nothing to do with kidnappings or ransoms, Parker would not approve) aside and leaned forward. "What's this about, darlin'?"

Parker squirmed. "Nothing," she said, but that was too close to just lying, and you couldn't lie to your team. "Something. I... dunno."

Eliot nodded. "This kind of like when you freaked out over me takin' on the alot?" he asked.

"Kind of. Except that's more you just don't get it it, this is more I don't get it." Parker sighed, pulling up her legs to her chin. "I feel stupid. I don't know what I'm feeling. I just.. .want to know things." She paused. "But I'm hoping you won't get mad if I ask."

"Well, I ain't gonna promise not to get mad," Eliot said. "But I do know that I wouldn't stay that way for longer'n it takes to say 'Dammit, Parker'." He smiled. "And yes, I'd still date you as a guy. You stuck with Hardison'n me when we were chicks, it'd be pretty rude of me to do otherwise."

"Hardison talks more than you do," Parker tried to explain. "I don't have to ask as much. I can figure it out from what he says." She smiled and nudged one of his thighs with her toes. "I bet I'd be an awesome guy."

"'Course you would," Eliot said. "And I'm reasonably sure we stick around long enough, we'll get to find out for sure."

"That might be fun." The guys had enjoyed being girls. Even if Hardison had grumbled about the clothing. "I guess... I was wondering..." She frowned at her toes, and then said very quiet, "If you were sorry you didn't get a fling with Kaye Lynn again."

Ah. Eliot couldn't say he was surprised. This was precisely what he'd been worried about when they'd had their whole talk in the first place.

"It'd've been nice," he said. "But I was there with you guys."

"That makes a difference?" Parker frowned, more in thought than confusion. "Oh. Because I was glad you didn't go off with her, but. We'd said we didn't mind if you dated other people, and I don't think I'll mind but... yeah." It had been their thing, and Hardison had gotten the tickets just for Eliot, really.

"But that don't mean you wanna see it right in front of ya." Eliot shrugged. "That's normal, Parker. Y'all are . . . attached."

Which would make it hurt more when Eliot inevitably died in front of them. Or screwed it up somehow.

Yay.

"Oh. Pretzels." Parker said it like it was a curse word. "I don't like jealousy! I didn't mean to be jealous." She frowned, reaching for his book. "But yeah. I don't want to watch you with anyone but Hardison."

"And I promise never to rub one of my flings in your face," Eliot said. "Which means I ain't gonna go off and have sex with someone else when I'm already hangin' out with you and Hardison."

That made Parker smile hugely, and give him his book back. "And I promise... um. Not to do anything more than a background check on your dates, unless it turns out they have a record of violent felonies."

So yes, if Mikel Dyan showed up again, she was at least getting a warning about safewords and stuff.

"What, more violent than mine?"

"Equally violent... and wouldn't you want to know before you got to the after-dinner drinks?"

"Pretty sure I already know anyone that bad from our own world," Eliot said.

"Which is why if they're on the Island, Hardison will figure out a way to check on them." Parker leaned forward to bump her shoulder with his. "Not to stop it. Just so you have dating back-up."

They could show up with wine if you forgot it, Eliot!... not that that was likely.

"'Cause I can handle myself," Eliot said. "Which you guys know."

Just -- ignore the part where he nearly got killed by an elder god a few months ago.
