Bailing 101, Monday
The classroom was empty at starting time; Atton was nowhere to be found.
It was otherwise a completely normal classroom, albeit anyone trying the windows would find them locked in place.
There was no note, there were no other items, just desks and chairs. And quiet, at least for the moment.

Sit and Wait
Re: Sit and Wait
It would be just like Fandom to have a teacher teach bailing by bailing himself, wouldn't it?
"Somehow I'm feeling like there's a trick here," Anders mused aloud. "I'm just not sure exactly what kind."
Re: Sit and Wait
It was also really weird there was no adult pretending to teach, and Ada looked around at the other students to see if this was normal.
Re: Sit and Wait
Leave the Classroom
It's not like your teacher is hanging out in the hallway wearing a stealth field generator or anything.
...Atton is totally hanging out in the hallway wearing a stealth field generator, invisible, at least until you try to leave.

Re: Leave the Classroom
Hi, disembodied voice.

Re: Leave the Classroom
"True," he said, "But a little suspicion and paranoia usually goes a long way if you want to get out of something."

Re: Leave the Classroom
Seriously, why would he stick around a class on how to run away once he'd gotten permission to go?
Re: Leave the Classroom
... This week. He wasn't going to make it difficult on him this week.
Re: Leave the Classroom
Finally, fifteen whole minutes in, she couldn't manage it anymore. "I need some fresh air if I'm going to sit here twiddling my thumbs," she announced, getting up and going to the window. "It's too nice to stay cooped up in here with the windows shut." She was out of her seat in a shot, over to the windows to open one up. Except...
"Huh." Ada shoved on it again, then tried another one. "Someone give me a hand? I think they're stuck."
Re: Leave the Classroom
So he was just going to saunter his way out of the classroom at exactly fifteen minutes. Score.
Re: Leave the Classroom
"And where do you think you're running off to?"
Re: Leave the Classroom
Jesse, honestly, was not in the habit of swearing in front of teachers, but -- well, he didn't know he was in front of teachers, at the moment.
He looked around, eyes wide, searching for the source of the voice. "Who's there?"
Re: Leave the Classroom
He was trying to figure out whether he should turn off the stealth field so the kid would stop freaking out, or the freaking out was funny enough that he'd keep it up just a little bit longer.
Re: Leave the Classroom
He was so not failing his first new day of school. Not when it had started so promisingly.
Re: Leave the Classroom
Atton leaned against the wall. "I'm right here, actually."
Re: Leave the Classroom
Shut up, he'd heard about some Barry Plodder stuff. Didn't make him nerdy. Shut your face.
Re: Leave the Classroom
Look, Anders had stuck the landing. This guy didn't even seem to know which landing pad to pick.
Re: Leave the Classroom
He turned to go back in the classroom, because he wasn't dumb enough to get himself kicked out of class on, again, his very first day -- but he was doing it really confused.
Re: Leave the Classroom
Yeah, Jesse. Go think about it.
Twenty-Five Minutes Later...
"So," he said, casually, "Why are you still here? What's a good reason to bail?"
Re: Twenty-Five Minutes Later...
Ada was sprawled out on the floor, laying on her stomach in a sunbeam, headphones on and reading a book. And not paying one whit of attention to the person that had come in and started talking. She'd totally bailed on the idea of class. You know, just not physically.
(Look, if the windows were locked, it was clearly A Trap. Ada was a carnie. She knew a sucker's set-up when she saw one.)
Re: Twenty-Five Minutes Later...
Atton folded up a small piece of paper into a little ball and tossed it at the back of her head. Gently. Ish.
