Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could soak up that precious vitamin D, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool.

All of the tables had at least a little glitter on them though. It was a welcoming gesture to get glitter someplace you didn't know glitter could go!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

His big sibling duty done, Face had decided to get his mingle on, at least until he'd been accosted by a squirrel who'd passed him a note explaining some very important summer welcoming traditions.

So now he had his shirt off and was liberally applying spare glitter to his skin and hair, because why wouldn't he.

Cassandra wasn't staring at him. She was not.

She was just... turning inexplicably red while shoving something food-shaped in her mouth, yes.

Face beamed at her, which certainly added to the overall sparkliness. "Good picnic?"

"The food is fine," Cassandra muttered. "Is this truly necessary, Face?"

The whole shirtless sparkly-- ugh.

"The squirrels gave me a note," Face replied innocently. "It's tradition."

The shirtlessness, yes, the sparkles, not so much.

"That's what it says," Face said, offering her the note which read:

NO SHIRTZ 4 BOY ON NOOBIE DAY. MUST ALSO HAS SPARKLYZ!

Ben, on his way back from free food (because he might be getting closer to 30 than he wanted to think about but free food was still astral) and burst out laughing at the familiar face.

"Are you Garik Loran?"

Tahiri was going to die.

"Last time I checked," Face said. "I can't sign any autographs right now, but I can give you a hug."

Glitterhugs were the best idea.

Ben laughed. "That would be amazing. Can I take a picture, too? I have a friend who's a huge fan."

Face considered the request for a moment, he didn't seem surprised he was alive, so it probably wasn't going to blow his cover. "Of course. Anything for a fan."

Ben grinned. "Thanks so much. I'm Ben Skywalker, one of the teachers this summer."

Kuso, Face was so little! And he had so much hair!

He held out his (super-souped up) comlink. "Smile!"

"No problem," Face, and all his hair, said. "Any relation to the other Skywalker teaching?"

He beamed at the comlink.

Ezra applauded him. With a wolf whistle, because Ezra and also because how could he not?

"Nicely done."

"Ummm..." Don't mind the staring, Face. Kathy would come up with suitable conversation in a second. Just, for now, she was stuck on 'umm.' Sorry. "Thank you."

Beat.

"Wait, no, I didn't mean to say that!" Kathy blushed and facepalmed. Great. Rising senior, still kind of awkward. Useful to know.

The squirrels laughed at everyone, so there is was.

"So...is there a reason you're not wearing a shirt?" she asked. "Are you trying to keep your shirt unglittered? Not that I don't support the result, but I'm pretty sure it's a lost cause."

Especially considering Face looked like he'd rolled in the stuff. Not that Kathy was complaining about that, either.

"...I'd just like to say right now that traditions are very culturally important to me," Kathy declared, biting back a grin. "And that I respect your decision to follow this one. You're an inspiration to everyone."

Or, you know, he should be. Especially to the other guys milling about.
