Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015, Early Saturday Evening [Part 2]

As the last new graduate sat down with their diploma, a roaring noise could be heard in the distance. The noise quickly got louder, and then it wasn't so distant at all as dragons began to swarm around the lawn.

Some of the dragons were real, with scales and tails and fire in their breath. Following in their wake were smaller, squishier dragons, in a variety of tasty jello flavors.

As the dragons descended upon the graduates, the Fandom graduation protocols kicked in, and an invisible barrier came down to separate the graduates from the rest of the audience.

Good luck, graduates. Hopefully there were some brave knight types among you!

Sorry folks, hopefully you aren't wearing anything that can't get a little singed.

There were real dragons and jello dragons swarming around - it was your choice what you wanted to deal with!

At the back of the stage, a box appeared with swords... and what looked like selfie sticks with spoons taped to the end. Thanks, island!

If fighting wasn't your thing, there was a safe spot towards the back where none of the dragons could reach, for reasons. Not everyone was made to be a knight, after all!

After the last of the dragons had been slain or squished, the school's sprinkler system kicked in to put out any fires.

#sorrynotsorry grads, but y'all look cuter when you're wet anyway.

Finally, the invisible barrier lifted, and everyone was released.

Atton was quiet for half a minute or so.

"...I knew I should've gotten him a bigger blaster."

"Our fight wasn't catered," Karla groused, settling in to enjoy the show.

"Oh fuck. Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck."

Sparkle had used up all of his eloquence earlier, during his speech. Now he was demonstrating the versatility of his vocabulary with some generous use of the F-Word as he pulled out his blaster (it was kind of cute, when you knew he was going to be shooting at dragons with it) and took aim.

He was so, so thankful that Lewis couldn't make it to the ceremony today. Holy shit.

Well. Not only was Sparkle slightly scorched and covered in Jello, but he was slightly scorched, covered in Jello, and soaked, now.

"C'mon," he groused, wet hair clinging to his face. "They couldn't have turned the sprinklers on when we were being attacked with fire and water-soluble gelatin monsters? I'M NOT GOING TO MISS YOU, FANDOM."

"I'm trying to figure out whether it would've been a good idea to get you a bigger blaster or not," Atton said casually, hands in his pockets as he strolled towards Sparkle. "I mean, on the one hand, bigger holes. On the other, the splashback probably would've gotten bigger and jello-y-er." Beat. "Told you that stuff was evil."

Elsa knew better than to think that there was anything she could do to help the people inside the barrier, right then. That didn't mean she wasn't looking for a possible way in, all the same.

And later, she'd wonder when in the world she'd become the princess who wanted to get in to trouble, rather than the one who decided that it was better all around for her to stay out of it.

"But still delicious," Sparkle declared, making a face at his blaster, gummed up with jello and dripping wet like the rest of him. Sigh. "This just means I'm going to eat it vengefully from here on in, you know."

"And then eventually it'll boil back up to try and kill you," Atton said. "Don't provoke the cycle of vengeance, Sparks."

He was going to put off congratulating Sparkle for as long as possible.

Hey, the longer Atton put it off, the longer Sparkle could pretend it wasn't an issue, himself.

"We'll see how well they get their revenge after I've eaten them all," he decided. "Extinct species don't fight back so good."

Jones did not look surprised when dragons appeared.

She did raise an eyebrow at the Jello dragons when they appeared. She even took a picture of the. With her phone to send back to James.

Atton let out a snort. "Oh, take it from me, there's always one surviving member," he said. "And you'll be, like, thirty, and suddenly it's beating down your door. 'You killed my grandmother! And my uncle! And my cousin!'"

While most graduates were running about, Barry was all intent on his lab experiment that he was still monitoring on his phone. When he finally heard the roars of the dragons he liked downright annoyed.

"Jesus fucking Christ! I'm trying to work here, God damn it!"

The dragons didn't seem to care.

Barry sighed, put away his phone and vaulted to the stage where the swords were in a series of handsprings and flips.

"Fucking dragons," he muttered as he picked up a sword.

"He gets to fight dragons?" Vider demanded of the world in general. "I want to fight dragons! This is so unfair!"

I'll take a dragon of any sort. Will be on SP for the afternoon and evening.

"Is this part of the ritual?" Baldur wanted to know.

"And I'll yell back, 'And they were delicious!'"

That wild Jello wouldn't know what had hit it.

"And then it'll eat you, and you'll probably give it indigestion, and you'll be dead and responsible for the destruction of an entire species," Atton said, "You monster."

Yeah, that was totally likely to happen in nice, safe Canada.

"At least I'll have left my mark in the world. My great revenge for Grad 2015 will be swift and thorough."

Take that, Jello dragons. Take that.

"And still delicious. I will die in a world of deliciousness. When I go, I want to become Jello salad. Put that in my will."
