Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015, Early Saturday Evening [Part 2]

As the last new graduate sat down with their diploma, a roaring noise could be heard in the distance. The noise quickly got louder, and then it wasn't so distant at all as dragons began to swarm around the lawn.

Some of the dragons were real, with scales and tails and fire in their breath. Following in their wake were smaller, squishier dragons, in a variety of tasty jello flavors.

As the dragons descended upon the graduates, the Fandom graduation protocols kicked in, and an invisible barrier came down to separate the graduates from the rest of the audience.

Good luck, graduates. Hopefully there were some brave knight types among you!

"Oooh, I'm looking forward to probably handwavily due to RL social obligations booo! that," Karla said, grinning. "Still, I most certainly did not get to fight off Jello dragons when I graduated. I had some kind of...dirt creatures? We hit them with hammers a lot."

"Is this meant to be a rite of passage?" Hannibal asked. "Kill things to prove that you deserve to graduate?"

"If there's one thing that Fandom can be guaranteed to teach, it's how to deal with the obnoxiously unexpected," Karla said, then gestured towards the back in the dragon-free area. "You don't have to kill anything to prove you can graduate. You just have to prove you're not stupid enough to die."

"Fair enough." Hannibal nodded. "It's certainly a more practical rite of passage than most graduation ceremonies." He thought for a moment. "Although listening to speeches you don't care for is a regrettably handy skill, true."

"You'll notice Zoe and Anakin had the decency to keep theirs short," Karla said, trying not to snicker. "Sparkle's was excellent, though. I'm proud of him."

Elsa knew better than to think that there was anything she could do to help the people inside the barrier, right then. That didn't mean she wasn't looking for a possible way in, all the same.

And later, she'd wonder when in the world she'd become the princess who wanted to get in to trouble, rather than the one who decided that it was better all around for her to stay out of it.

Jones did not look surprised when dragons appeared.

She did raise an eyebrow at the Jello dragons when they appeared. She even took a picture of the. With her phone to send back to James.

Kathy hadn't gone to graduation last year, so seeing the dragons was definitely a surprise to her.

"Oh my god if this happens next year, my parents are going to freak."

Robert looked startled and alarmed for just a second. Then he forced himself to relax – at least as much as he'd relax in general, which was not much – because this was nothing his daughter couldn't handle.
