Bonfire and Snowball Fight, Saturday Afternoon/Evening

In the late part of the afternoon, the finishing touches were put on the setup on the front lawn of the school, and the bonfire was lit. There were tables of warm food and drinks, as well as the ingredients for s'mores because it was a fire and traditions were important.

There was also, thanks to nature and the cold weather, a nice blanket of snow on the ground. There were some chairs and benches for people who just wanted to sit, eat, and watch, but anyone who wanted to get in on the snowball fight had plenty of space and ammunition waiting to be made. Zoe had found a chair for herself a safe distance from where any snowballs might be flying - unless things got a little crazy, which wouldn't surprise her in the slightest.

Travis didn't need anyone to show him the beauty of s'mores but he was definitely going to eat a few. He warmed his hands up and had some hot chocolate to keep the chill away.

Bob didn't care much about the food or the fire, but there were people out, so he was here watching them!

Ronan had no intention of getting involved with this snowball whatever it was but he did come outside to sit down and watch people make fools of themselves.

He missed ridiculous entertainment. Back home, it'd be making fun of the Pig. Here, he was going to have to make this work.

Edward hadn't had a snowball fight in his life - well, all right, perhaps once or twice, and he'd been chastised for wasting time by the parents - but he had curiosity and a lack of anything but the most rudimentary of self-preservation instincts.

Also, the food.

He was snacking merrily on something warm and filling as he considered the battlefield ahead.

No, Obi-Wan was not getting involved in this mess. But he had encountered a rather unusually large group of people on his walk here today, and, well: he remembered how... overzealous... teenagers could be at mock battle.

He hung around by the fringes, one arm supporting the elbow of the other, stroking his beard as he watched.

Sparkle had very low expectations for his floor's chances today. After all, there were only six of them on floor two, and that didn't bode well against the upper floors, who had twice that.

Which was why he felt absolutely justified in loading up the inside of some pre-made snowballs with glitter for the glory and honour of the second floor. Because god only knew he had enough of that.

What? Haven't you ever seen a Canadian punk kid running around with a backpack full of snowballs before?

Ezra looked far too excited and happy to be here. Really, he was bouncing in place every once in a while.

Johnny was being a complete jackass, wearing a tanktop, shorts, and sunglasses to the bonfire. He was even wearing a visor, just to complete the summer look.

Vider didn't need to be introduced to the s'more, although where she was from they just called them marshmallow sandwiches. Whatever, she would call them delicious.

Alana was there for the s'mores. She'd get in some action, but it could wait until after she was stuffed with chocolate and marshmallows.

Four (with a neatly written little sign that said "FIVE" for his floormates to find him, found a strategic spot to start building his fort.

Unlike class yesterday, it wasn't going to be two stories tall.

Mara had a perch up on top of the flight shed with a supply of snow and a cold surprise for anyone not from the third floor...

She was dressed for movement, her distinctive hair tucked up under a hat. She wasn't, after all, supposed to be particularly good at this kind of operation but the honor of her floor was at stake, right?

Travis didn't know a lot of people on the second floor but maybe they could bond during this whole snowball affair. Travis was trying to build a snowy wall for cover while he looked out for incoming snowballs.

Again, didn't really care about things like school events, but Gwen absolutely wanted to hit people with snow. So she was here, she looked cute bundled up, and she was totally getting a cold from the fire drill probably but she had a bag full of-premade snowballs anyway.

Fourth floor represent.

Vider picked the most strategic spot she could find that wasn't already claimed to stake the slightly crooked '4' flag she'd made and start building snow fortifications.

He darted 'round, finding cover left and right, never staying long in one place. C'mon, targets.

Cassandra was unsure what this foolishness was: attacking one another with snow? Such a frivolous use of their time.

She paused briefly to let out a disgusted noise at the view of this ridiculous battlefield. She was entirely intent on moving on, now that all those present had been informed of how ridiculous they were being.

After the fire drill last night, Nathan was trying to stay outside as much as he possibly could. That meant wandering close to the bonfire and food and eventually into the field of proverbial battle.

Thank goodness he'd worn his gloves even if he was a complete novice when it came to snowball fights.

Sparkle was at least reasonably certain that he was going to get his ass kicked for this, but that wasn't actually going to stop him from throwing snowballs packed with glitter inside at anyone who wandered close enough who didn't live on the second floor.

It was patriotic. Or something.

So, the thing was... Ezra didn't really know who was from which floor. No, not even who was from the second floor, which was his.

He was just throwing snowballs indiscriminately, for the most part. Sorry, folks.

"Anyone from the third floor who doesn't want to get hit by snow, stand behind me!" Johnny called. An area around him was completely devoid of snow. He wasn't on fire right now, but it was very warm around him.

Zoe had decided that she would be impartial and just watch the fight, but somehow she found herself building up a little pile of snowballs anyway. Hopefully, she wouldn't need to use them...
