Library, 2/28

Angela is behind the desk, listening to Throwing Muses on her iPod and staring into space.

She can help with your book-related needs. Cheerfulness is optional, right?

[OOC: Lyrical comment threads are from the Throwing Muses' University album. It's a Kristin Hersh kinda day.]

Janet came into the library, looking slightly cranky. Occasionally, she would shake her hand wildly in the air. The pen stuck to her palm wouldn't fling off, though.

"Hey," said Janet. She was wondering if she tried to eat one of the caramels from Friday, would the wrapper stick to her palm?

And they were pretty good caramels too, so it might be worth it.

"Yeah, everything's in upheaval again," said Janet. She put her palm down on the desk and tried using her elbow to hold the pen down while she lifted the her palm. "Also, I think the universe has something against me."

Zero came into the library, put her head down on the desk, and proceeded to nap most thoroughly.

((Y'all know the drill by now? If your character doesn't look at me, they can't see me.))

"Not really, but it's still annoying." She noticed Angela pouting. "Are you okay?"

And to demonstrate why the universe hated her, she started held the fingers of her right hand splayed out, palm down, to show the pen stuck to her hand. Maybe she could tap the keys with the pen when she checked her e-mail? Since she couldn't type like this.

That definitely woke Zero up. "Oi! That's my head!"

"Mornin', Janet," Zero said. "Somethin' wrong?"

((How long this is after Janet entering the library and whether or not Janet has looked at Zero are entirely up to you.))

"I came in ages ago!" Okay, maybe twenty minutes. But still. "An' I was right here the whole time!"

Zero scowled. "People have been ignorin' me all week. Or just not noticin' me. It's gettin' kind of old." She rubbed the back of her head a little. "No, I'm fine."

"Okay, then," said Janet. "People do get used to upheaval on a weekly basis, though. Trust me." Janet poked at the power button on the library's computer with her pen. "On the other hand, maybe you just need a vacation?"

"I haven't actually tried to touch it with my other hand," said Janet. Once the computer booted up, she managed to log in by using her elbow and tapping at the keys with the pen in her hand. "Just in case they're both sticky." She checked her e-mail and quickly typed out a message to Parker before turning back to Angela. "Maybe you can pull it off? Just don't touch my hand."

Janet glared at her hand. "Hi, Zero," she said, not looking away from her hand yet. "I didn't hear you walk in."

She shook her hand again.

The pen was still sticking to it.

"I hate my life."
