Library, 2/28

Angela is behind the desk, listening to Throwing Muses on her iPod and staring into space.

She can help with your book-related needs. Cheerfulness is optional, right?

[OOC: Lyrical comment threads are from the Throwing Muses' University album. It's a Kristin Hersh kinda day.]

Janet came into the library, looking slightly cranky. Occasionally, she would shake her hand wildly in the air. The pen stuck to her palm wouldn't fling off, though.

"Mornin', Janet," Zero said. "Somethin' wrong?"

((How long this is after Janet entering the library and whether or not Janet has looked at Zero are entirely up to you.))

Janet glared at her hand. "Hi, Zero," she said, not looking away from her hand yet. "I didn't hear you walk in."

She shook her hand again.

The pen was still sticking to it.

"I hate my life."

"That's probably because I've been here since first period," Zero said without looking up from her Spider notes. "Why do you hate your life?"

"I think I have sticky hands," said Janet. She glared at them, then looked around for Zero. "But I don't want to test the hypothesis any further for fear of sticking more stuff to my hands. I've been opening doors with my shoulders or hips all morning, though, and those seem fine."

Zero was sitting at the desk, her notebook open in front of her. She looked up at Janet and said, "Huh. Has anyone else tried to pull it off?"

"Not yet," said Janet. She looked at Zero curiously. "You weren't sitting there when I came in, were you?"

"That's really odd," said Janet. "Seriously, I did not see you there, and you're a very noticeable person."

"Yeah," Zero agreed. "It's the hair. That is weird."

"Weird like the thing with my pen weird?" asked Janet.

"Maybe? I don't know. I mean, it's not like I'm invisible, right? People can see me. Just not...always?"

"I can see you now," said Janet. "But I did not see you when I came in the door. And I can't imagine that I wouldn't have."
