The Library is Open (02/23)

After teaching first period, Rory toddled sleepily into the library and began sorting books for reshelving.

And occasionally pulling her arm in and out of her socket, just to see what would happen.

The library is here, and the aides are happy to help. Okay, happyish. Whatever.

Angela came in nursing a cup of coffee and looking a little grumpy. "Morning," she grunted.

"Hi," Angela said, frowning. "So why would someone who's not working for someone else anymore call them at 4 a.m. about paperwork? Especially if the second person has, like, been retired for almost six months."

John blew up a book on Maine yesterday. Of course, he can't remember if it was a libary book or not. So, he comes in to check.

John waves back before ralizing...that was Rory's leg. Rory's not attached leg. Rory's detached limb is waving to him.

"Did I lick something I wasn't supposed to last night?" John mutters.

"Rory, you do know your leg is not attached to your body, right?"

Zero is here, though, and looking very relieved to be back in her own body.

If she's eating an early lunch of a tuna fish sandwich, well, girl's got to eat.

Parker shuddered. "You are so weird. Gah." She shook her head. "We're all going to see Dean Washburn today, right? As soon as everyone else gets here?"

"Good." Parker watched the hand move on its own again and shivered. "Know why that's creeping me out? I keep wondering about what's going to happen if you can't re-attach them again. Gahh."

"I think so?" Angela said. "I mean, if she's in her office, and everything."

"Yes. Angela figured out it's the only period that all five of us have free. The Library can survive a quarter-hour of us not being here so we can talk to the Dean." Parker shook her head. "Special Collections wins again."

Jack comes into the library. He know he needs help. Good thing he's charming.

Jack stops, and narrows his eyes at her. "The play. The play that, apparently, you're responsible for me being in. The play I've never heard of and am now in, and playing someone named Flute."

Blair bounced in and claimed a table that was out in the open and very visible. Because he wasn't about to get in trouble for hiding in the stacks with Molly.

Molly arrived soon after and joined him at the table. She set her books down and pulled out her Western Civ notes. "I brought my notes, but I really don't think they'll be much help."

She opened the notebook and slid it over. There was a page for each day of lecture. They even had that day's topic nicely written at the top of the page. Too bad that was all that was on topic. Besides the headers, the pages were either empty or filled with random doodles.

Blair flipped through the pages and grinned. "Well...um...I like the stick figure man that's throwing a spear on the page for 'Greek Politics and War'"

"Okay, I picked up some books and can guide you through what you've been learning or I could give you a pop quiz on some of the topics you've learned so far."
