Shop Class
As the students enter the room they'll see a table that has an array of various materials that no normal teacher would ever provide a student could possibly create an explosion.
"Hopefully you got my e-mail last week to bring in something that you don't mind getting destroyed," Mac says with a small grin. "Because today we are going to blow it up."

Assignment: [2/22]
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Of course, most of her experience with explosives involved cherry bombs and bottle rockets, so it took her some time to find a
*completely handwaved, because I'm not looking up explosives from my work computer, dammit*good combination of materials, but she soon had everything set up and ready for pyrotechnics. She was looking perhaps just a bit too gleeful at the idea of blowing things up.

"Light it up when you are ready, Nadia."

It had been three days, but she still couldn't think of a good alien virus excuse for what had happened at the dance. (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/653795.html?thread=30828259#t30828259) So, awkward. (http://carter-i-am.livejournal.com/31115.html) Yes.

Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Using corn syrup, mothballs, and a bunch of other household products, Sam spent the class making plastique, humming slightly as she worked. It was kind of nice not to be in a rush situation and really helped to take her mind off the fact that there was stuff to be dealt with.
She cut some fuses out of regular cooking string, then put the plastique into small plastic containers, inserting the fuses. She then inserted the little containers into the sleeves and pockets of the jacket and waited for everyone to get behind the barrier so she could light the fuses.

So, he rigs the book up with some explosives, including a small firework, some gas, some sulfur, and potpourri. The potpourri's just an experiment to see if he can make the explosion smell good.
So, now he's ready.

Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Don't ask.
She looks at the materials, and figures she'll need a very hot explosion in a contained area to actually explode the koosh balls, and not just turn them into flaming projectiles or melt them.
So she works for a while, a little haphazardly, on a small container in which to have her explosion take place. It's not very well put together, but she then wraps it in duct tape, so it should hold, right?
Then she realizes she probably needs a timing device, because she doesn't want to walk around all ugly and burnt up until her body spontaneously regenerates. Because that still freaks her out, quite frankly.
After locating some wire and an egg timer, she looks at her hands and gives up, figuring a long wick would be good enough.
She then loads a bunch of fun explosivey things into the box and stands back, wondering if this is such a good idea after all.

because she would and her mun definitely doesn't, complete with remote firing device. Otherwise known as a long piece of string. Satisfied with her device, she produces a pair of black gloves from her back pocket. No, they aren't Lyta's. They just look like Lyta's. Honest.Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
"That was fun," she said, satisfied. "I love this class."
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
With the proper materials on hand, he doesn't have to resort to guessing at chemicals, and goes straight for the carefully numbered shotgun shells, signing out two and emptying the powder onto the sticky side of a piece of masking tape for a fuse.
Kerosene lantern fuel. Ammonium nitrate fertilizer. Gloves, because he's not getting that
shitstuffshit on his fingers when he mixes them and pours the result back into the shells to make blasting caps.Fuses attached, he finally opens the box and removes the contents:
The paper cheerleading uniform is a Sunnydale High one, since he doesn't know whose Jake actually stole. The accuracy of the detail on it is probably a little worrisome.

let's bake a cakelight it up when you are ready."[OOC: Just so you know everyone in my office now thinks I'm insane now. Thank you for making my day.

There is a happy little earthshattering kaboom.
And a lot of cream filling.
Everywhere.
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Mac the goes through the process of how to create a small explosive device using fertilizer, a tube, some newspaper, cotton balls and engine starter fluid.
"Try that."
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
He grabbed a tennis ball and cut a hole in the top of it. He then stuffed it full of match heads and a few magnesium strips and filled up the rest with flammable powder. He replaced the cut-out section of the ball and secured it with duct tape, leaving only a hole for the fuse, which he stuffed in so that only a section was hanging out. Kawalsky taped it into place.
Making sure he was far enough out of the way, he went and put a stuffed toy snake behind a barrier some distance away.
He lit the fuse, positioned himself, timed it and then lobbed the grenade over to the snake. A few seconds later, it exploded.
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
Grinning widely, he sets to work mixing up a
handwaveyexplosive that he's fairly sure is only going to explode a little bit, without blowing anyone up or just setting the pillow on fire. He may have been muttering "little explosion, just a little one. Can't blow anyone up. Bad idea, blowing people up." under his breath.Satisfied that he probably won't blow up anyone else in the room, he attaches a fuse and gets ready to explode something. Gleefully.
Re: Assignment: [2/22]
He sets up a number of different types of explosives and, when he gets the okay to fire, sets them off with a maniacal grin.
"Shop class rules."
