As the students enter the room they'll see a table that has an array of various materials that no normal teacher would ever provide a student could possibly create an explosion.

"Hopefully you got my e-mail last week to bring in something that you don't mind getting destroyed," Mac says with a small grin. "Because today we are going to blow it up."

Sam didn't say anything. Probably best, even if she did miss the easy comraderie they'd had.

She put on her safety goggles, lit the fuses, then hurried behind the barrier.

The jacket, as might be expected, exploded. A little too much plastique had been used, though, so the bench it was sitting on also blew up, leaving a small crater in the floor.

"Oops."

Mac chuckled. "Always the overachiever, eh Carter?"

Mac then coughed and returned his gaze to the gradebook.

She smiled slightly and was about to respond when she thought better of it and climbed up on one of the other tables to watch everyone else.

Mac sighed and after another student went up to explode something, Mac approached Carter.

"Carter? When you have a moment, please see me after class."

"Of course," she said, then found her shoelaces immensely fascinating. Oh, wouldn't this be fun?

She began looking around to see if she could land herself in the infirmary between then and the end of class.
