As the students enter the room they'll see a table that has an array of various materials that no normal teacher would ever provide a student could possibly create an explosion.

"Hopefully you got my e-mail last week to bring in something that you don't mind getting destroyed," Mac says with a small grin. "Because today we are going to blow it up."

"John, you spent yesterday as a hat." She rolled her eyes, "I think you have bigger things to worry about than me."

"What kind?" Sam couldn't believe she'd just asked that question. "And I'm not surprised, but how would you have been a bad hat?"

"The kind the new security guy wears," John tells her. "A Stetson. And, if I'd given people hat head, I would've been a bad hat."

"I haven't met the new security guy yet--is he nice?" Sam asked. "And I didn't know it was the hat that controlled whether or not you got hat head." Huh. Learn a new thing every day.

"Maybe I need to be nicer to mine? What do hats like?"

"I haven't met him either but the newspaper says he's a pretty cool guy," John says. "And, if you wear a tight hat, it's gotta give you some kind of hat head, right? As for what hats like, they don't like to be flicked and dirt kinda irritates them too."

"I'll have to keep an eye out," Sam said. "No tight hats, no flicking, and no dirt. Good to know."

"Er, John? Do you mind if I ask why you keep bothering her?"

"Bothering Skeeter?" John shrugs. "Keeps things interesting. She gets to use her magic and I get to keep a class of three entertained. It takes my mind off other things."

"We should start a club." She glanced quickly at Mac and hoped he didn't notice. "But ix-nay on the alcohol. It makes awkwardness happen."

"Yeah, I've stayed away from the alcohol thus far," John says quietly. "I prefer brooding in my room."

"Probably a wise choice. I went to the dance, just to prove that I could, that I was fine." She glanced at Mac again. "Probably not my best decision ever."
