Advanced Journalism (Tuesday, February 21 - 2nd period)

Rita sat behind her desk.

No, not so much with the happy-looking.

"Good morning, Ms. Sullivan, Ms. Gilmore. Your assignment is a simple one. In class today, please write fifty words on why impersonation is wrong, or which circumstances might find it acceptable. Because we're doing this today, you have until tomorrow to turn in your assignment on campus couples. Questions?"

John would not mind the wee trip as long as Rory didn't tell everyone that the hat on her head was John. He especially didn't want her telling Jaye because she'd never let him forget.

Rory snuck out into the hallway, past Professor Skeeter, who was paying absolutely no attention.

"Hello?" she called softly. "Come look at my hat!"

"That be quite a fine hat ye be sportin'," Barbosssa said, coming down the hallway ~~for absolutely no reason, hush~~.

If John could facepalm, he so would. Instead, he just sits on Rory's head and does his hat thing.

"It's John Crichton!" Rory said excitedly.

Barbossa blinked. "Ye be wearin' John Crichton on yer head," he said. He grinned wickedly. "What would Bridge be thinkin' about that?"

"I think Bridgey would think it's pretty cool," Rory scowled. "Not like he'd care what I wear on my head anyway."

John attempts to flail about. All he does is tilt a little, making Rory look hip and stuff.

"John be makin' a fine hate," Barbossa said. "But I think I be likin' mine a bit better."

He glanced at the classroom Rory had come out of. "So Professor Skeeter be branchin' out from animals, then?"

"I think he annoyed her into not turning him into something fun," Rory speculated.

John's just glad he's not a bucket or a shoe horn, yo.

Barbossa reached over to pat the hat. "I be lovin' this school sometimes," he said.

"It's awesome. Though I wish he'd gotten turned into a wee chipmunk or something, since the hat is fun to wear but that's all," Rory said.

John enjoys the pats and feels proud that someone with such a fine hat would think he was doing a good job.

After Rory's comment, the hat droops. He is a sad hat. Woe.

"Aww, poor little droopy hat," Barbossa said. "Ye be doin' jes fine. I be bettin' Matey-wit'-the-Hat would be proud t' wear ye."

"I wonder if he's around," Rory wondered. "I bet he'd love him."

For some reason, John thinks this would be a very brain breaky event.

Rory did not know that, though, since she sadly could not hear the thoughts of hats.

John decides to be naughty and he gives Rory hat head.

Barbossa grinned. "If I be seein' him, I'll be pointin' him yer way," he said. "But fer now, I be goin' t' see if the principal be gettin' the gifts that I be hearing someone left fer him last night."

"Gifts?" Rory asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Thar be a thought that some members o' the student body be needin' a bit o' encouragement t' be involved wit' the play," Barbossa said, winking. "I be knowin' someone who be havin' access t' some mighty fine audition-type materials."

Rory facepalmed.

"You made my cast more interesting, didn't you?"

If John could laugh, he so would. Barbossa's an okay hat wearer!

"I might've," Barbossa said, grinning. "But it be not fair t' have a stage without Krycek or Anakin or Logan-who-used-t'be-a-bunny on it."
