Library [12/9]

It was a normal day in the library. Well, as normal as a day in the library at Fandom High ever got, given... well... things. (Hey, it was what it was.)

She swept a stack of books up off a table and dumped them on a cart, proceeding to move through the library and clear off the rest of the tables in the same way. It was one of the more "typical library duties" days of things, as opposed to the "Fandom library duties" days. Sometimes there was a rather clear difference.

"Then, we're looking for the same thing," Riley said, pointing to his laptop where about twenty different searches were occurring. "Pull up a chair and I'll show you a few quick tricks for finding stuff that's typically not on our internet."
solarhippie: ([neu] Do you need advice?)

Oh thank heavens, someone who knew what they were doing. Karolina pulled up a chair for herself, almost looking relieved.

"I'm not very good at this computer stuff," she offered, with a wry little smile. "I have friends who do that."

"And where I'm from, I am that friend," Riley said, sticking his pen behind his ear and pulling up a basic search engine.

Then, he went into a real quick spiel on how to go from that to several searches on networks that weren't readily available on their current internet. He made it as easy as he could.

"Wanna give it a try?"
solarhippie: ([neu] Sassy.)

Honestly, she was still kind of frowning at the computer half confused. "Well, I can try."

But it was still a learning experience, and hey, that'd distract her from her nerves, maybe!

"Not that hard," Riley said, turning his laptop towards her. "Go ahead and try it on mine. I'll watch and won't help unless you need it."
solarhippie: ([pos] Free spirit.)

"Okay," she said, and gave a little chuckle to her own skittishness. She reached for his laptop, and a moment of very focus later, she... had found some other company called Hyperion.

They sold shampoo.

"I don't think that's them," he said, scratching his cheek. "Unless they're really serious about shampoo."
solarhippie: ([neu] You said something?)

"Well, I guess they could be digging up shampoo ingredients from the middle of the island," Karolina said, shrugging. "Considering Fandom. But I doubt it."

"I doubt it too," Riley said, nodding. "We'll put it in the maybe pile but you're getting the hang of it. Try again."
solarhippie: ([neu] Not sure I understand.)

And so Karolina tried again.

"... These people manufacture doors. I don't think that's it either."

"These people might be off the grid," Riley said, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms. "Untraceable."
