Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

"Very nice," Anakin said diplomatically. He leaned his head close to her ear. "And you're the prettiest girl in the room," he whispered.

Rory blushed, looking down. "Really? I'm kind of 'eh' on the dress." She glanced back up admiringly. "I have to say, though, the suit is very nice look for you."

"Keep the dress," Anakin said, giving her a slow smile. "I like it. Lots." He looked around. "Um, not that I have any say over what you'd be wearing, of course."

"No, of course not," Rory replied. "But it's nice for friends to like each others' clothes." She tilted her head at him. "So, you prefer your pastries all smushy? Because I'd never noticed that before...."

"Huh. And to think, there was all that talk about cheerleaders, which I've never been, and none of schoolgirls, which I have," Rory said innocently. "I mean, honestly. Know your audience. There are more ex-schoolgirls with their uniforms lying around here than ex-cheerleaders."

Rory raised an eyebrow. "Shirt, tie, and a little pleated skirt," she said sweetly. "Optional vest or sweater, tights, and saddle shoes."

"God, who's been lying to you?" she asked through her giggles. "I mean, I didn't think the rumors were at the 'Wow, that Rory Gilmore's got a frosting thing going on' level."

Anakin grinned. "I have sources. You know, shrubs and stuff. And this isn't exactly at the levels of Marty 'Ferret Sex' Blank or anything."

Rory made a face."I'd hope so. So in exchange for cake, I'll show you my uniform? For purely educational purposes, of course." She pretended to think. "Hmm. I'm still not sure that's enough for me to risk the humiliation of donning knee socks and saddle shoes again."

"And naturally, it would simply be a fashion show," Rory said, her voice low. "I'd show you the uniform and go change out of it, and then we would go study or something. Perhaps over tea." She bit her lip. "Hey, for that matter, I could show you my entire uniform without ever actually putting it on."
