"There is a saying on this planet that before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes and that way you're a mile away and have their shoes," Anakin began, holding a piece of paper in his hands.

Do you have a bad feeling about this class? Do you?

"In that spirit, I have paired each of you up with a classmate. Your assignment over the next week is to spend two days together, one for each student. You'll show how you live, what you're studying and what you do with your spare time in an effort to foster understanding of the various cultures and backgrounds that are pushed together here in Fandom. Your other teachers have been given notification of this assignment as well, so don't worry about interrupting their classes with your new shadows."

He glanced at the paper. "There are 17 of you in this class , which means that the odd person out is paired with me. Congratulations, Ulrik, that's you."

Hope you enjoy children, Ulrik...

"The rest of you, please listen for your names, then go meet up with your new friend." Because he knew how Fandom students could be, he added, "Actually wearing their shoes is not necessary."

Anakin then read off the following pairs because the RNG is cruel:

Sia looked over- subtly- to see who he was talking about. "I don't know him well enough to know why that's a bad idea, so I'll have to take your word for it," she told him.

"Be happy," Atton said. "He's got a chunk of debris up his ass bigger than the one Skywalker does." He stuck his hands in his pockets. "So what are we gonna do? I take it we're not going to be hanging around each other's bedrooms all day."

Oh, huh. Jim was that guy who hadn't really known what to make of the cats and dogs that one time, right? Sparkle considered that for a moment, and then shrugged.

If this ended in disaster, he supposed, odds were it would be because they'd both found a way to get themselves arrested or something. Probably.

"I've got my money on we've managed to kill one another by, like, Thursday," Sparkle offered, smirking as he crossed his arms over his chest. "We should get a pot going, have people place bets on how long it takes for everyone to drive their partner nuts or get themselves arrested. We could make a killing on this."

Wasn't that what this was for? An opportunity to profit?

"That's not a bad idea," Jim said, actually considering this a viable option. "No one was meant for constant companionship so even the nicest, most tolerant person can't handle it all the time. And I bet there'd be a few people who would say they could do it for a week easily."

"Oh, yeah," Sparkle scoffed. "I mean, hell, I'm used to sharing a room or whatever, but if I wanted a constant shadow all the time, I'd be getting down on one knee, and whoever I'm proposing to better be willing to put out."

Somehow, Sparkle didn't think he was Jim's type.

"But, hey, it could be worse. We could be stuck with the teacher, like my roomie, there."

"So, what days work best for you?" Jessica asked, jumping right into it as she took a seat next to Korra.

[OOC: FYI, the next couple days will likely feature me at work super late and in little mood to play. From Friday on, should work! Maybe especially over the weekend with power swap going on. :D]

"I think we have most of our classes together anyway," Korra said after checking the rosters thinking about it. "Except for Professor Jerkbender's on Friday." He had a name, Korra, several actually.

"Well, taking me to that class is potentially a horrible idea. I have Issues with that guy," Jessica said, making a point to verbally capitalize 'Issues.' "So it depends on how much you want your creepy follower to risk detention by heckling a lunatic."

Chaz eyed Bucky and calculated the odds of surviving a dive out the window. "So...when do you have time this week?" He finally decided the concussion was not worth it.

Sholeh looked around for Miriam. She thought she remembered someone by that name, but she wasn't the best at getting out and talking to people, so she might be misremembering.
