Umbridge High School Building, Saturday Evening

There were some clouds hanging around the spires of Umbridge High School, but not enough; there was an overlaying sense that there shouldn't be as much sunlight shining down on it as there was.

It was quiet. Kind of. There was tension in the air, a wound-up strung-up thing that ensnared the school. Somehow it seemed as if even the birds didn't want to touch down on the building itself, and the gates seemed to fold into themselves, even if they weren't quite shut.

And all that on a weekend, too.

Clint knew the resistance was getting kind of feisty, but to actually succeed in breaking people out of detention? That was too much, and Clint was running around in the hope of rounding up anyone he could get his hands on, to put them back... somewhere. Look, he'd figure out that part of the plan when he got to it, okay?

Eve had managed to get across the school somehow, she still wasn't completely sure how she'd managed that one but she wasn't friggin' questioning it.

She did, however, come to a stop when she saw Clint. Well, well, this could be interesting.

She also started banking a fireball spell in her mind, which would give her approximately thirty seconds to finish it with a single word.

Clint's eyes narrowed as he spotted Eve, and he moved into a defensive stance. "Stop where you are," he said. "Come along with me quietly, and no one will get hurt."

"I've never done quietly in my life and I'm not about to start now," Eve said, before murmuring one final word that would send the fireball flying at Clint.

But God, it felt good to be using her magic again.

Okay, these people really needed to be back in detention where they belonged. Clint dove out of the way of the fireball, and rolled to get upright enough to fire an arrow at her.

Kitty wasn't doing much in the way of fighting, though she was more than happy to jump in where needed. But when there were a bunch of people who'd been trapped and tortured for a long time who were getting to escape and they could finally use their powers...

....then it was probably safer just to stay intangible and make sure everyone got out.

Yes, it was probably safer, because Clint was stalking down the hallway with his bow in hand, looking for the cause of all this madness and wondering if he could just fire into detention and deal with the mess later.

One of the causes of this madness was currently watching to make sure everyone got out, and when she caught sight of someone- namely the guy who'd been racking up a body count lately- she decided she had two options: warn everyone, or cause some kind of distraction.

So she did both, yelling, "Go!" and then walking back down the hall towards him. Maybe she could buy some time, get him to waste some arrows?

Clint stared at Kitty for a moment before screwing his face up in disappointment. "Kitty? I can't believe you're helping these people. Don't you know how dangerous they are?"

There was a roar and then a sudden shaking of the ground as the giant green monstrosity landed in front of puny bow and arrow man.

He stood there glaring at him before letting out a roar of anger.

Oh yes, this was exactly what Clint wanted to run into.

"Easy there, big guy," he said calmly. "I'm not going to hurt you." Mainly because he wasn't sure if he had any arrowheads in his quiver that could take the Hulk down. "Just get out of my way."

Hulk let out a low guttural growl before smashing and grabbing a hunk of a nearby wall and throwing it at Clint.

Sorry Clint. Nice try at diplomacy.

Once they got Bruce under control again, he was never, ever going to be allowed to look at Tumblr. But first, Clint had to deal with rolling away to try to avoid getting hit, and ducking down a nearby hallway to hide. "No! Smash the students!" he ordered. "They must have hurt you!"

Yes, he was totally snowballing here. Dying via smash was not on his agenda today.

There were a lot of troopers who would not be making it to the school to help out the loyalists. A fair number of Madri as well.

Turns out they didn't multiply if you shot them fatally. Headshots usually worked.

Clint was pretty good with some shots of his own, so it probably wouldn't be wise for Billy to come near him. But, that probably didn't have a chance of stopping Billy, now did it?

See the beauty of ranged weapons, like guns, and throwing stars, was that you didn't need to get too close to your opponent. That wasn't to say that there wasn't blood on his katana blade of course.

Clint ducked down when he heard shots, and fired an arrow in the direction they came from. If he got lucky and hit, he was going to consider that a hightlight of his day.

The school was like a kicked anthill. About that level of broken, too, with how much the Hulk was breaking everything. Natasha was doing her best to avoid the big guy as she hurried through the halls, directing traffic toward safety where she could, but mainly looking for one person.

Clint was tired. His clothes were singed, he had pieces of wall in his hair, and everything was going wrong. So, seeing Natasha? Kind of the last thing he needed right now.

"I hope your people are happy," he said, scowling.

"Are you going to lecture me again? I already got enough of that yesterday," Clint said bitterly. "There is something big and green in these halls and I think he might still be pissed at me, so it'd probably be good for you if you just got the hell out of my way."

Karla ran up beside Clint. They'd...bonded...a bit on the roof and she knew he was suffering just as much from the curse as she was. Hopefully, she'd be able to take him out of the fight before any of the other members of the Resistance took him out for good.

"Kiss kiss," she called. Hopefully he still thought she was a Loyalist.

[I know Clint has a date with a red-head! All set for her plan to not work.]

Clint had been a little busy dealing with all the crap of this day to be up to date on the news, so when he saw Karla, he broke into a smile. "Hey, are you all right? I was beginning to wonder how many of us got here."

"I got here in plenty of time to be useful," Karla assured him. "Hey, could you slow down a sec? I think I got gashed and I'd like you to take a look? Need to be at my best to put the rabble down, you know?"

She started lifting up the side her shirt, shifting her weight slightly away from him. "It's right above my hip, but towards the back, dammit."
